Also the post match interview is not to be missed where Andy demanded the third match to declare a clear winner.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnuWA-jBOrU
It  seems  Ruiz learned from his mistakes that's why he's calling for a third match,  if a third match is gonna take place, Joshua should up his game,  else,  Ruiz might knock him out,

Ruiz really get the punches he needed to knock Joshua out because Joshua was just running around the ring,  I guess that helped him against being knocked out by Ruiz
There is never going to be a third fight if Ruiz wanted to prove to the world that he was better than Joshua then the second fight was his only opportunity, the world doesn't need a third fight to determine who is the best between the two because now it is very clear, the first fight was nothing but a fluke, Joshua made too many mistakes and Ruiz was smart enough and in a good enough shape to take advantage of them, the second fight proved that Joshua will never make those mistakes again and Ruiz does not really have the heart of a champion.

As much as Joshua and Ruiz wanted a third fight, this won't happen immediately. The WBO issued a mandatory for AJ to fight Usyk. And just lately, the IBF issued another mandatory for AJ to fight Pulev. AJ already mentioned before that they will fight Usyk but since there is also the IBF mandatory, it is interesting what happens now. Is AJ gonna lose one of those belts or WBO and IBF allow AJ to choose any of them and then fight the other one after.

It would not be interesting to still see a fight of AJ and Ruiz again if AJ will loss to any of his challengers now.
Why can't they just move on and look for a better fight, the rematch does not gain good feedback so how can we expect that the fight no. 3 is gonna be an interesting one?

If I was Joshua I will never fight Ruiz again, from his point of view he has nothing left to gain from him, when Joshua lost against Ruiz, he lost credibility since he lost in such a convincing way, but now he was able to beat Ruiz in a definitive way too and recovered his belts, besides unlike the first fight which was very entertaining this fight was boring, we had a fighter that was determined to keep his distance and the other that could not get close at all since he was so heavy, so I do not see a huge interest from the public for a rematch.

But I must think they must fight for the third time. They are even now, each got 1 win and 1 lose. They returned to where they started.
If they fight again, that will be unfair against other fighters/competitors for the belt.

They will fight if there's a hype of the fight number 3, however, I doubt if they can sell a fight on this two again, the fight rematch was one sided, and Ruiz again making excuses on his loss which tells that he just won the first fight by luck. In this rematch, AJ came prepared to correct his mistake and take the belt while Ruiz just EAT too much. lol

I ruled out the possibility of a third rematch I don't see it's going to happen soon, the issue is on Ruiz for not taking the fight seriously, when he should I think this thread should be close and it's already final that Joshua will fight another challenger, and as for Ruiz his future seems uncertain, for doing and saying words, he should not say.

Wrong choice of words actually, he can make excuses but he should be careful with what he said, he must accept his defeat the same what AJ did in their first fight and maybe promise the fans to train more if he is given a chance for the 3rd fight.

We know it's the fans that will dictate, if they don't want to see this 3rd fight, promoter would not waste their money marketing the fight when there is no market.

If AJ wins his next fight, people will ask for another big fight, and eventually will forget Ruiz as a possible opponent.

Not really, they are not even, yes I know that each one of them won and lost a fight but in the second fight it was obvious who was the best fighter, Joshua lost the first fight because of very specific mistakes in his strategy and his physical condition but in the second fight Ruiz got outboxed and it is obvious that if a third fight happens then the same scenario that we saw in the second will take place and it is not like the public is asking for another fight after how boring the previous one was.

Joshua was out of sorts in the first fight and also not good enough of course. Ruiz was an undisciplined slob in the lead up to second fight. He should've treated that match as the opportunity to emphasise that he wasn't a fluke. Instead he threw it away. Joshua did the total opposite and got back on his trajectory.

I wouldn't be inclined to give him another chance when he had that little respect for the one that truly should have counted. He had the rest of his life to stuff his face and slack off on the training.

Sadly, it is true that Ruize's critique stands as indisputable. I mean everybody picked on how he gained ~ 12kg over the months leading to the fight but I suppose he just enjoyed the luxury lifestyle a little too much and became sloppy by not training as hard as he should have.

If he had taken this more seriously, he would have had a good chance to show the world that his first victory against Anthony wasn't a fluke - he could have re-written history, and I think it would have made boxing matters more interesting, alas Anthony was the 'better man' on the day and put Ruiz in his rightful place!

I think it's time to close this topic, there will be no third match, and it's going to be very hard to hype the third match if there is one, because of how the way Ruiz fought, it takes two to Tango, but both fighters did not show eagerness to knock each other out, we have one running and another guy, very sloppy to move.

A third fight doesn't make any sense. Ruiz will lose again in another match up. Pulev must be the easiest opponent Joshua can take. Because Tyson Fury, Wilder and Usyk beats him. Joshua will need that confidence back should he want to unify all the belts.

Very very boring but thats how boxing works where you should hit but dont be get hit by the opponent and that wasnt really very entertaining at all.
If 3rd match would happen we would definitely see the same scenario so same as you said where the interest is already gone so people should move on.
Nothing interesting here on the next fight so Ruiz should move on and he definitely waste up that opportunity on holding that belt and proving
out to people that the 1st fight was just almost or can really be considered as a fluke.  Grin
