Really? so where is the privacy on crypto ATM machines? - I don't know how it really works but I'm sure you need to connect with your phone, keys or something , I really don't know how crypto ATMs really work, can't imagine tho we have thousands of it already, but isn't it not fair to have cameras? I know ATMs usually have cameras for security but on this one? I'm very skeptical on dealing with one of these, aside it looks so boring to me coz it will be longer than usual ATMs.

So we cannot just order anybody to withdraw our crypto in an ATM?

If you want to know how one of those crypto ATM work, you can read this thread in the italian Board (Use Google Translate if you are not fuent in our language!).

There we discussed operaions and privacy features of those ATM's.

Basically: they have no mean to connect your face with an identity. The cameras are ther for vandalism protection.
Or, actually, this is what the pretend.

The fees are really high for bitcoin based ATM machines when i tried sometime back just to try how things are and i was not happy with high fees, what is the situation now and the charges. The cameras outside the ATM machines to protect against vandalism is a good ploy Cheesy. I have heard stories about people getting scammed where the scammers ask the user to use the ATM machines to get the bitcoin as it is too easy to get those without any real problems and with the increase in those type of scams i am expecting certain restrictions in the near future.

The justification for the fees seems to be the relatively good security that it provides. For example, if you wanted to do a local exchange with someone you have to meet that person, and ultimately trust them with the transaction, as well as them knowing your identity, and various other things. This is a peerless transaction in the sense that it doesn't require another person, and removes the risks that are associated with that.

Although, there's the security risk that's been mentioned with tampering, but most of them are covered by security cameras, and most people aren't that interested in tampering with Bitcoin ATM machines since tampering with the cash ATMs would be far more profitable due to the sheer amount of volume they get as opposed to Bitcoin ATMs.

To me, the high fees of an ATM machine are justified as long as  this is the most secure way to exchange Bitcoin in a privacy-wise manner.
If I can trade my sats with the security and privacy, I am eager to trade those very important factor with a few satoshi.
Of course, if there are ways to do that better (truly anonymous DEX's, for example), the happier.

We've secured a new spot right next to Tan Son Nhat Airport in Saigon  Smiley

While right now of course not really playing out its strengths, you can now refill your proteins & empty your Bitcoin wallets at the same time when arriving in Vietnam  Cheesy

Quote
We are seeing the dramatic increase in popularity for bitcoin and other digital currencies here in Vietnam over the last few years so we want to be a part in order to offer convenience and service for our customers.

We also have a strategic location next to the airport so it’s very convenient for tourists to get some Satoshis as soon as they arrive to Saigon

Yeah, loved how this interview showed barbeque, glass, hot girlfriend, how great crypto is, how people should be able to buy, but miraculously the author of this clearly paid article failed to address the one question everyone remotely interested in purchasing would have asked...What about the fees? So I checked them myself

Should I say the word that characterizes a spread of nearly 15% in buying and selling? It starts with rip....

Although the transaction fees are very high, but I believe Bitcoin ATMs can serve as promotional strategy and it would help in crypto adoption. As the numbers are suggesting crypto transactions using ATMs are more common in United States and Europe but crypto trade in many countries is not legal that is why the numbers are very less as compared to US. As the transaction fees are ridiculously high why would someone need ATM if he can trade through local exchanges?

That will be so nice to see such a great numbers of Bitcoin ATMs because it will make more convenience specially for those who are into using Bitcoin. Sadly, the reality is that most numbers of those Bitcoin ATMs are located in the US so other countries still do not have an access to the said ATM. But I am looking forward to see that almost all countries will be having the presence of Bitcoin ATMs because for sure it will boost the usage of Bitcoin as well as encourage other people to use Bitcoin and learn more about. What the important thing that must be considered first is that if people on the place have adapted on using Bitcoin because there is no such sense placing Bitcoin ATM where no one wants to use it or have not yet adapted or learned to use and acquire Bitcoin. But all in all, having such number of Bitcoin ATMs is really a great step for the adaptation of Bitcoin usage and making more convenience specially for doing transactions related to Bitcoin.

Again, ATM are a good way to buy bitcoin in a privacy respectful way.
So I think this is the way we have to measure the convenience of every ATM: respect for privacy, or, mostly, how much (how few) KYC they do apply.
When you buy on an exchange you trade your privacy for liquidity and efficiency: something you don’t necessarily find or need buying from a privacy oriented ATM.

I believe that is one major reason why the use of bitcoin ATM is still low, the transaction fees are quite high as compared to other methods of converting your crypto to fiat. But with the presence of these machines, people will be curious and may search on their own. Noncrypto users will try to check this out and who knows some of them will turn to be crypto user. If nothing else, the presence of these machines in public will entice some individuals to know more about crypto esp bitcoin.

I strongly agree with the many Bitcoin ATMs scattered throughout the world that can increase the popularity of Bitcoin, even though
the transaction costs are sufficient great if we make transactions with Bitcoin ATM. But it still includes an effective marketing
method to attract the attention of people who have not get to know Bitcoin. Because ordinary people will be curious if they see
Bitcoin ATMs, and try to find out and learn about them. Therefore spread Bitcoin ATMs must still be done to accelerate Bitcoin mass
adoption.

This is super! Bitcoin is really spreading out. And when people see it's importance, they'll have no choice but to join this moving train. I'm pleased to see this increment. BTW, I don't think 8k is a small amount.

But before that, the government's should understand first how bitcoin works and how it help their economy to grow. Most of the countries are still not legalizing the use of cryptocurrency in their country, maybe due to the scams or hacks that are being reported in the news. We as a bitcoin user should help them know the reality about the advantages of bitcoin in our daily lives.

Just like this bitcoin ATMs, this will give a less hassle to us to withdraw our money. I know that, it is not easy to do that due to the pandemic that we are experiencing right now and some services are postponed. But i'm really hoping for more adoption and more bitcoin ATMs around the world so that people will see how this bitcoin moves and grow globally.

The demand for bitcoin is increasing day by day all over the world and ATMs have been set up to meet its demand. Although there are many who are of the opinion that it is better not to transact from the ATMs the fees are much higher. However, it is true that the ATMs will come in handy when needed. I hope the number of ATMs will increase a lot as the demand for Bitcoin increases

Use this to locate the nearest BTC ATM’s in your area -

https://coinatmradar.com/

The best site to get info on atms in your area, definitely handy if you're abroad and in a pinch for cash.

May be important to note that many ATMs currently request for some sort of KYC. Haven't used one since the quarantine started though

Wow, 8000 bitcoin ATM is a really huge number for me but it doesn't mean that there are many bitcoiners around the world because I believe that there are still so many people who don't have any knowledge about cryptocurrency, they don't have any idea about it because only a few countries allow this currency to thought for their citizen, which is really good I think because it will benefit them so much in the future.

This ATM machine will become more if all country will allow it to use by their citizen, as of now there are still many countries banned the cryptocurrency.

The number of crypto ATM's worldwide has grown to more than 8,000 just a month after passing the 7,000 mark in March.
According to the monitoring resource coinATMradar, there are currently 8,208 ATM's in 73 countries allowing users to buy and sell Bitcoin and Altcoins for Cash. More than 6,000 of them are in the United States.
https://cointelegraph.com/news/there-are-now-more-than-8-000-bitcoin-atms-worldwide

It makes people to have a convenient bitcoin transaction for those who are nearby ATM's machine.
It shows continued growth of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency. The mass adoption for bitcoin will surely increase and someday many people now without knowledge in bitcoin will engage in cryptocurrency because as time passed, bitcoin became more and more popular and recognizable.

This doesn't seem to be mass adoption at all, according to your stats there are 8000+ BTC ATM's worldwide, and 6000 of them are in the United States alone, meaning the manufacturers only concentrate on the United States rather than distributing the ATM's to  other parts of the world,I just tried searching for a BTC ATM close to my area with this link: https://coinatmradar.com/  guess what, I found nothing, the next one is about 483 kilometers away from me, and that's about 18hours drive from my current state, the funniest part is that, there is only one in my country  Shocked, so if we want to see mass adoption of crypto ATM's , they have to do better than that.
