Very simplified, and based only on my understanding of others' posts - in a string design the BitFury chips are effectively put in series where it concerns power and I/O, meaning you don't have to drop the supplied voltage as much, and require less control circuitry, than if you tried to put them in parallel.

This is with Gen2 chips. Gen1 seem to max at around 10-11GH (with the same setup).

Shiny!  Can probably push out a little bit more with a better hub - on the other hand, you'd need active cooling?
