How to calculate the total number of work weeks and time in the Activity system

As far as the forum is concern, having a required rank activity does not automatically rank you up but activity system is just as important as the merit system, they work together as you need both to rank up.

Forum Ranks and required Activity as stated by theymos

The new membergroup limits work like this: (Edit: Obsolete, do not use)

But why 24 hours? do I have to stay a maximum 24 hours when I can just make a post under few minutes

I know you wanted to ask that question but let me answer, you don't have to stay a maximum 24hours but according to theymos 1 post per day is counted towards activity and 1 day is 24 hours, how long you stayed on the forum does not matter.

If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

Fun fact: Activity period doesn't start from the day you register but it follows a fixed cycle for everyone. If you were to register and post on 29th Dec 2020, you can post again on 30th Dec 2020 and get 28 potential activity. I didn't keep track the exact time but it's roughly every alternate Tuesday.

Your duration for you to get potential activity thus depends on when you actually register.

It shows the date and time (down to the second). By forum time, activity updates happen every other Wednesday, but I assume there can be variances to that in different timezones.

Why complicate matters, if you create a topic every two weeks and then after several months create 400 posts, you will get 400 activity as long as the 1 topic every two-week applied.
The activity has no value as long as you do not get Merit, which makes things more complicated.

The forum is for learning, so if you learn in this period, the ranking will not mean anything.
