If i send someone btc, can they see what kind of wallet i use?
Can they tell for example if i use a blockchain wallet or electrum?
From what little i understand depending on adress format they can only see if i use legacy or segwit wallet, nothing more than that. Is this true?
Thanks guys i really need some quick help here !
In most cases, no one can identify what wallet you employed to send a transaction. Addresses don't contain any identifying information about the software you generated them with. For example, you can generate a private key in Bitcoin Core and then import it in Electrum. No one will notice anything at all. However, in some specific cases, it is possible to find out what type of software you used to make your transaction. One of the cases I can think of is a CoinJoin transaction in Wasabi wallet. These transactions are easily identifiable, and outside observers can safely assume that all addresses were a part of specific software.
Be careful with centralized exchanges, though. They are gradually starting to require their customers to disclose information about wallets.
