lol, I started reading the article and the first thing I found myself doing was looking at my laptop calendar to make sure it wasn't April 1st.

Brilliant!

This is a sad story for that guy but I admit that it made me laugh a bit. He should have made a research about the gadget first like if it's easy to hack by hackers or not and if it is connected to the internet before buying. I guess he learned his lesson now. It is better to buy offline things like that.

I think this would have been a good example as to when it is time to go to the hospital. It also may have been a good idea to contact the company that made the device for help in regaining access to his account.

the story is a lot scarier and nerve-racking than most of the horror movies I have watched in my lifetime.

this is why someone should always research what they want to buy especially if it is connected online. reading the article it says that the manufacturers left a vulnerable API that allowed hackers to take hold of the device.
the inner "conspiracy theorist" in me thinks that the manufacturer/developer where part of the hacker to make some extra buck.
Some of the device's owners got their accounts—and thus their devices as well—hacked at the end of last year, after security researchers warned that the manufacturer left an exposed and vulnerable API, which could allow hackers to take control of the devices.

The end of story - his dick  was released from captivity but needed a month’s rehabilitation. Grin
my mental rehabilitation would need that too if that ever happened to me

WTF Shocked  Fantasy!

Why we need such a device, if it's your penis then you are the master, not someone. Roll Eyes

Anything connected to the internet is at the risk of getting hacked what if these hackers decided to hack everything from a smart home, or a smart car remotely. The development of such technology is going to make more bad to the humanity?

Companies that produce sensitive things like a 'Chastity cage' need to ensure that data breaches (hacks) are either impossible or when done, they do have a quick solution to solve the issue, or else quite a lot of users of such products will run into trouble sooner, rather than later. The thing that prolly connects us (the Bitcoin community) though, is the currency (Bitcoin), the hackers demanded the ransom be paid in, they'll prolly get into a pickle and could be traced if they demand their ransom in fiat, so they choose BTC thats renowned for freedom, lack of control and untraceability to a large extent.

Haha great story, you have a good imagination. I mean honestly if someone would ever put is dick online I think we should give the hacker some leniency on that one. This is some kind of wierd hostage he has there. Most of us would definitely pay but why do so such things in the first place? This sounds very wierd.

I've heard the story, and just as the same as other users, i laughed and feel sorry for the guy who got troubled in this kind of situation (it's a mix of emotions).

....

Companies that produce sensitive things like a 'Chastity cage' need to ensure that data breaches (hacks) are either impossible or when done, they do have a quick solution to solve the issue, or else quite a lot of users of such products will run into trouble sooner, rather than later.

Even company such as Ledger where it's product is about security have security vulnerability, so i wouldn't expect this kind of company have good security.
Agreed, there is no such thing as an uncrackable software, there will always be an exploit waiting to be... exploited.
Although adding more security layers while keeping up the "performance" of the device won't hurt (maybe).

This kind of event kinda taught us to be more aware about privacy and security of an IoT device.
