Why don't you try the icloud password to see if it works, I know some wallet do require password during the initial wallet setup maybe you where absent minded when registering in the beginning and forgot you had it setup, am sure the wallet won't request for it if you had not entered password from the beginning.

I really don't know because I never used Bitcoin.com's wallet(and I would never use it and recommend it), but you might as well just try out your iCloud password. If it didn't work, try importing your 12-word mnemonic on a better reputable wallet such as Electrum[1] instead.

Once you gained access to your funds though, I suggest creating a new wallet on more reputable software such as Electrum[1] for desktop and BlueWallet[2] on mobile instead.

Access passwords are usually given during the initial stages of creating a wallet. So did you lose your password or forgot your password?
to access iCloud try to use the iCloud password to log in. Or access forgot password to find the iCloud password if you forgot it

When I set up my Bitcoin Wallet (downloaded from bitcoin.com)
Bitcoin.com is a known scam site ran by a known scammer, the entire purpose of which is to trick newbies in to buying an altcoin called BCash instead of actual bitcoin. You would do well to stop using this wallet.

the only password I remember being asked for was for accessing the iCloud backup.
It is incredibly insecure to back up your wallet file or seed phrase to cloud storage. You should consider this wallet compromised and move your coins out of it as soon as possible.

I have my 12-word mnemonic (is that also known as the 'seed'?).
This is all you need. Use this 12 word seed phrase with a reputable piece of software to restore access to your wallet, and then create a brand new wallet with the same reputable piece of software, back up your new 12 word seed on to paper (and not electronically!) and then send all your coins to this new wallet.

Are you sure it's 12 words? According to what I read here[1], that wallet allows you to obtain a file that contains the private keys and not 12 words.
And then make sure that you have bought Bitcoin, that wallet is false advertising Bitcoin Cash as Bitcoin.
Regarding the password, I think that they encrypt the private key for that file using the password, so you need it.
Generally, withdraw your coins from that wallet to any one ---> bitcoin.org › choose-your-wallet

The Bitcoin.com wallet allows you to use both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.  It also clearly delineates the two.  Roger Ver may think that Bitcoin Cash is the legitimate Bitcoin despite the wishes of most of Bitcoin's users and miners, but the wallet is not scamming the OP.

I recommend that you import the 12-word seed into a well-respected Bitcoin wallet like Electrum or Mycelium.

The Bitcoin.com wallet allows you to use both Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash.  It also clearly delineates the two.
They tried to scam and when they scammed lot of money and failed to scam more, they changed the ticker from Bitcoin to Bitcoin Cash. Initially, they call Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin (BCH) and Bitcoin is Bitcoin Core (BTC).

To newcomers: make sure when you buy bitcoin you are buying bitcoin!

I am not using a bitcoin wallet on the website bitcoin.com where you are having problems. But one thing I'm sure of, cannot have a wallet that requires a cloud password. Except, you are offered a private wallet app that needs to allow login to download your mobile device. If bitcoin.com asks for the cloud password it's a fake. blockchain.info or coinbase will be trusted.

The whole of bitcoin.com is designed to blur the lines between the two. Quotes such as "New to Bitcoin? Download the wallet to get started." and "Already have a wallet? Buy Bitcoin instantly." are deliberately worded to make newbies think they are buying bitcoin, not bcash. They make up fake names for bitcoin such as "Bitcoin Core", which is not used literally anywhere else. They change the tickers and the names to deliberately confuse people who do not know better, as in the screenshot above. There are literally hundreds of threads on this forum, twitter, reddit, etc., from newbies who have bought bcash and only realized it when they have sent it to a BTC deposit address on an exchange or service.

The only reason to deliberately mix the two coins, make up fake names, and make things deliberately difficult to understand is to trick newbies to buy bcash. There is no legitimate reason for their actions. Therefore, it is a scam site.

blockchain.info or coinbase will be trusted.
There are both custodial wallets in which you do not control your own coins, and are both subject to hundreds of complaints, issues, and terrible customer support. Using either of these instead of bitcoin.com is a step sideways, not a step up.

The fact that you're being asked for an iCloud password implies that you used the iOS bitcoin.com app. I'm not sure/ don't think that the MacOS version (if there even is one) makes Apple prompt for one.

In iOS your personal files are all stored in your iCloud Drive storage so you either saved a wallet or exported something out to there, and you weren't signed in so Apple prompted you to log in with your Apple ID, or you were restoring a wallet file located on iCloud Drive but not signed in either. The same is not true for Macs, they have actual local storage on the disk and cloud storage is normally not used.

Is it the iCloud access password??  Huh

No. The iCloud password is for your Apple account only. It's not used for the bitcoin.com wallet (which may itself have a different password if you specifically set one for it).
