The new ones like BSC and Polka might get some outflows back to ETH though.

Depends from how developers will engaged with those alternative chain, the fact that ETH update might resolve the problem
with transaction fees,

Those developers who jumped out might think back and again use the  ERC chain, it will bring those old support plus those
new developers to use the system.

We will see what will happen after the update.

ETH will resolve it. It's just a matter of when, and I think people in general who have left ETH don't believe it's happening according to schedule (they're behaving like Bitcoin people who left the main network because they thought BTC was too slow).

Like you said though, we'll only really find out after the update.

When will ETH2.0 go live is something that is highly anticipated. A lot of trades are stalled and many projects are awaiting salvation and the ones that can't wait have migrated to BSC. The project I follow and owned some reasonable amount vowed never to migrate to BSC. Having competition is good for the market, so few other ETH competitors will stay alive.

ADA is a good project that is why it is considered as one of the best competitors of ETH. If ETH 2.0 gets released ADA will remain stable since it will only lessen ERC-20 transactions. ADA same as ETH is already established and ETH 2.0 can help ETH increase its price. We will see all the inpact of it once 2.0 meets people's expectations.
ADA honestly have very weak foundation, it's just temporarily hyped up and there's nothing special about it really while most of people who got tired of erc20 migrated to BSC instead not ADA and when ETH fee resolved it's more likely to get dumped.
In this case I think BNB have stronger foundation than ADA when it comes to ETH 2.0 release even polka is a lot more better than cardano if im being frank.

Or will they remain stable at least?

I think I like ADA anything better than what Eth can bring out. However I hold both. I started out with more eth but have just been stacking ADA because I like staking it for passive income.

You guys have any thoughts on this?

You're comparing apples and oranges.
While yes, they are both crypto, and share some similarities, ETH will always be domain for DeFi, while something else will thrive on ADA.
And in the end, ramp solutions will join them together

of course it will remain stable, because ETH 2.0 only affects for ETH system and does not affect for ADA or other competitors, so if indeed ADA or other competitors can match ETH, then of course ADA or other competitors will be able to remain stable, especially if ADA or other competitors can making the project better than ETH, then of course it's possible for ADA or other competitors will be more popular than ETH in the future.
