The existence of bitcoin is now familiar and not confusing, and if anyone wants to plan on giving a certain amount of bitcoins to anyone for a special day or whatever that's a great idea. Because from time to time bitcoin is getting more popular and more and more people know.
and the OP's idea is not the first time there is, the important thing is that you can tell in more detail about bitcoin and how to transact and use it, because after you give a wedding bitcoin gift to your sister bitcoin because it will be hers and it's up to her what she wants to do. and once she enjoys the benefits I'm sure she and her husband will get involved and your good point is that you're just bringing your sister into crypto, and it's a very simple little way of adoption that will spread widely. Because there's a chance he'll do the same thing, maybe in a different way.
Your sister will create a positive mindset on crypto if you are ready to guide her and assist her especially since she's new to crypto. However, giving bitcoin as a gift to your sister does only mean one thing, that you want your sister to have a better future together with her new family. And as a brother, i know that you want the best for her and definitely bitcoin, could be your one way of showing it to her. One thing is certain, if your sister will be able to manage her bitcoin well, then you can expect that things will work according to what you see in the future with bitcoin. So you're just right on your decision.

I think it's difficult for this part, I personally introduce crypto to my husband, it's difficult, if there is no intention to know and find out, I hope your sister's future husband is not like my husband those who are lay and new to what crypto is indeed difficult to introduce. They think they don't want to spend their money in vain just to invest in crypto which has a high risk. knowledge of crypto should be given slowly, should set an example like making some investments. Early education is very important so that they don't just think negatively about crypto. Its always an advantage if one can be well knowledgeable and is not fearful in taking risk when deciding to invest in crypto. And if OP's sister is capable to be like that, then gifting her with bitcoin is definitely a good idea. Bitcoin can be very versatile and has chances to be more valuable in the near future, but OP you should also make aware your sister how unpredictable and volatile bitcoin is. That way, she can decide for herself if she can be able to manage that or not.

Last time, I gifted my sister some ETH to hold on her Trust Wallet and she plans to keep it for a long time due to her belief that it can go even higher. -snip- I already educated her the basics about private keys, seed phrases, etc.
That's nice that you sent her some ETH as a gift and you taught her about private keys and how to keep her wallets safe. This means that she is new to crypto currencies and she already believes that ETH can go higher. Lol, did she do her own research and saw the potential of ETH or does just "believes" it will happen because you know... she believes. Here is where the problem is. Instead of teaching them that bitcoin and crypto currencies will only give you profit, teach them the advantages and the use cases of those crypto currencies. How they can be used and why they are better than fiat currency. This way people will not only hold them for profit, but also use it for its use cases and eventually make crypto currencies something mainstream.

But i suggest OP, maybe your sister will be more willing to accept fiat this time as they can use it to start their own family. Bitcoin is good and definitely a great investment, but the fact that its not accepted yet as a medium of exchange in most countries, then its hard for them to spend it like in emergency cases without converting it to fiat first. Also, its always better if you can hand them both, so just think of it OP. I’m not changing my mind because she already asked me back then about investing into BTC and holding it for a long time. She even have NFTs too. And she has no problem with finances because she ventured into like 3-4 small traditional businesses as a co-owner and partner, knows how to get resources along with her soon-to-be-husband and having a stable job as a university teacher. it all depends on the main goal of the OP, if you want to help financially without bothering it and can be used at any time, of course Fiat is the best. But if the OP's goal is to introduce Bitcoin and make Bitcoin a unique gift, Bitcoin can be chosen even though the risk is higher and cannot be used as a means of payment, only as an investment.

Then it is a great choice for a wedding gift. There's nothing wrong with gifting cash (or any other form of money). Because I don't like material gifts, I prefer to give cash as a wedding gift instead of registry items so the newlyweds can spend the money however they want. If you decide to give this as a wedding gift, do tell us a little about your sister's reaction.

The truth is that a gift of that style for your sister is a guarantee that you can ensure her future if she decides to keep that BTC, because I think that in a few years the value of BTC will reach at least more than $150k and if in that case they have any problem of budget style, BTC will not only get you out of trouble but can guarantee you a life of great comfort. I hope that your sister has great prosperity with this step that she is going to take in her life and that it fills her with much love and happiness.

Thats good. Giving her Bitcoin as a gift for her wedding can make her happy because as you've said she is also firm to hold her assets for long. Is it a surprise or she's already aware of your plan for giving her Bitcoin? Anyway advance congrats for her marriage. She is lucky to have a thoughtful sibling like you.

I’m so happy that she can finally walk down the aisle after a successful 10+ year relationship with her fiancee.
Congratulations to your sister on her forthcoming wedding. Ten years plus is really a whole lot of time to stick to someone and then not finally marry them. Good to know it worked out in her case. Last time, I gifted my sister some ETH to hold on her Trust Wallet and she plans to keep it for a long time due to her belief that it can go even higher.
Not only I may surprise gift her some BTC, but I’m also planning to give her my unused SecuX V20 hardware wallet.
You truly have a great intention of spreading the crypto gospel and I hope you get a corresponding value in response from your sister. I expect her to go further and develop a curious mind and become a crypto investor too; not one who waits for freebies.

Last time, I gifted my sister some ETH to hold on her Trust Wallet and she plans to keep it for a long time due to her belief that it can go even higher.
Her wedding day was supposed to happen in the final days of December, but it was ruined because of the super typhoon, so it was moved this month. I’m so happy that she can finally walk down the aisle after a successful 10+ year relationship with her fiancee. The wedding is in a beach setting, far away from my city.
Not only I may surprise gift her some BTC, but I’m also planning to give her my unused SecuX V20 hardware wallet (since I only bought it at a special discount in exchange for a non-biased video demo). So I’ll just reset my settings there so that she can create a new account and I’ll teach her step by step since she has no experience yet in using hardware wallets (but already has experience in Trust Wallet and other non-custodial wallets).
After all, I already have Ledger Nano S and SafePal S1. I already educated her the basics about private keys, seed phrases, etc.
It's so thoughtful of you to gift her crypto-related things. It's a good way to spread the usage and benefits of bitcoin to those who don't know it yet or to those who still have a little knowledge about it. A good starting point to educate them on where they could invest aside from the known things they're used to. In addition, it's a nice move as well because we all know that bitcoin is lesser prone to inflation and could really have a high value depending on the season and how long you will hold it. These will surely be beneficial to them in the future because she can profit if she would utilize what you give her. This could benefit not only her but the future family of her own. But maybe you could also consider giving her things that she can enjoy or things that both of her and her groom would find useful in starting to build their own family. Like household appliances and the likes that they could bring on their new home and use it right away. This is just a suggestion if you're still wondering what other gifts you could offer. But the btc and hardwallet are great already. Congratulations to your sister in advance!

She’s not having any of my BTC Yeah, you don't need to give her any bitcoins from your holding, but how about buying £100 worth of bitcoins now or at her wedding time and gift her. If i was at your side, i would probably ask my sister before her marriage, if she is willing to get bitcoins and if so, i would have purchase bitcoin for her.

Its a good initiative for the sake of awareness or overall exposure about bitcoin or overall crypto.

I think this will be great step for your sister if she save your given BTC for future. If we see the market BTC going to super moon gradually though now market are low but hope it will hit near 1k$ very soon. So if you give BTC to here as a Bride, think it would be great afford for here. Best of luck for future.

If you're planning to gift your soon-to-be-bride sister, make sure to gift something that matters to them, something that they will remember. And I think giving bitcoin as a wedding gift would be a great idea.Since bitcoin could be a great help with their financial needs. And probably can be use in planning for their future.. Im sure, that your sister will gonna apprecciate it.

Already its a month past, from the day in which OP have mentioned about his plan. If I'm not wrong, by now the marriage might've got over and he might've gifted it. Congrats to the new couple.
People are getting to know more about cryptocurrency and the same has made people use it on different purposes. Crypto for gifting is simply good and in some posts I saw users unaware of its value, but used to fulfill some needs. In the coming days cryptocurrency will play a big role in the gifting and it is possible to read different gifting stories with cryptocurrency.

This is my first time I've encountered this thread and to be honest I am so impressed by this idea because if I am the sister of OP and i would be going to receive a bitcoin as a wedding gift I will be very happy with it. And since this thread was posted a month ago I was curious what was the reaction of the bride who received bitcoin as a gift. I would not doubt that people today are getting to know more abot crypto because of the hype.

I'm curious as to what the reaction was from your sister. Because they might use it for something that could make their future or something, or it could be another saving type for the newlyweds. Hopefully, the couple will continue to support cryptocurrencies because this is the future for sure. Don't forget to buy for yourself

Giving a wedding gift like Bitcoin is very rare in my country, of course it is something special for your sister and teach your sister how to use a secure bitcoin wallet and be careful of phishing and scammers, by giving a bitcoin gift to your sister, hopefully also your sister can continue the accumulation to later be given to her grandchildren.
Really i can see how time is changing. Previously during marriages, the inherited gold was transferred to the children from parents and grand parents and so on. Sooner or later this physical gold will be replaced by digital gold (bitcoin BTC) and parents will transfer bitcoins on marriages. This is what we call digital transformation.
