List Of Inactive Merit Sources [Former?]

Hello Community!

I am too curious about Merit sources. No one wants to reveal if they are merit sources or not. Sometimes they could agree that "Yes, I am." But, most of the time, we figure it out from their merit history. As far as I know, We have 111 Merit Sources (?). But, I figured out some merit sources have become inactive for a long time now. Since They didn't get any benefits from being a merit source, We may say this is a volunteer job for them. I manually generate this list. I apologize if I missed any merit sources' names. Of course, everyone's final destination is the same, and we cannot return from there anymore. We don't know how they are at this moment. If some of them are well, Hopefully, they will make their return. If someone passed away- Rest In Peace.

• I have listed Merit sources names who have sent a minimum of 500 Merits
• I have listed Merit sources name that has been inactive for at least 30 days
• The list was Generated Manually with the help of BPIP
• The list is Generated based on Sent/received Stats; this could be inaccurate (Partially/Fully)

** Technically, you will get 0.5 sMerit for each merit. so, If someone sends received 100 Merits and Send 51 Merits. It's technically Impossible without being a Merit source. I have generated the list based on this Judgment which can be inaccurate.

Trivia:

For current members, your initial merit score is equal to the minimum required to your rank. Of that, a certain amount (less than the usual half) is spendable. The spendable amount was calculated based on your current rank and the number of activity points you earned in the last year. A Legendary member who hasn't posted in the last year would still be Legendary, but would not have any spendable merit.

If we're to add that to the computation, it's possible for users like @TheNewAnon to send 527 merits without being a source. From bpip.org, the user has total merits of 1,938 and 938 of which were earned. I don't have time to dig into his posts but I'm assuming he's very active in 2017-2018 which makes him eligible for the 1,000 minimum merits required for a Legendary account.

What's the purpose of this? Some of the users on this list never were merit sources - you can see that from e.g. merit source applications they posted. Some are known to have resigned. Some may be still active once in a while (thus not in your list) but not sending merits.

I don't have all the info and neither do you. And I think sharing half-baked and known inaccurate information is not better than doing nothing in this case, thus the question "what's the purpose". People have their reasons to leave, if they want to tell us - fine, let's have tearful goodbyes, otherwise let them be. Adding the irrelevant and possibly inaccurate merit source status and the likely inaccurate speculation about death just increases the already unnecessary cringe.

I also seem to be missing the point of this, hence my "answers" may not be 100% what you'd expect. Also, with the risk to offend you (I hope not, though), this topic looks somewhat like "yet another Meta stats, fishing for merit". This being said, you should expect some harsher replies.

Now, if you want to say that only the merit sources that have passed away deserve a "Rest in Peace", it's imho unfair. There are many people who have left the forum - some have passed away, about many we don't know - and clearly there are more who are being missed than only the few inactive merit sources.

Indeed, finding out the merit sources - especially by hand - is not an easy job, since most aren't boasting it. And only the numbers can be wrong, since it's not unexpected some (few?) merit sources don't care or have difficulties in spending the (extra) merit. It's a volunteer job (as you very well noted) hence we cannot blame them; an interesting fact is that some didn't even ask to become merit sources.
(The fact that some merit sources will not tell they're merit sources is because they can become targeted by merit beggars.)

I think that one point behind this topic was to make some sort of subset of this list.

I think that another point behind this topic was to somehow induce that we need more merit sources - which I knew it was the case about 1-2 years ago, but right now I really don't know (I don't say it's not the case, I really don't know). But if you think that you are fit for being a merit source... nothing stops you from applying to be one and let forum admin decide (when he will approve more merit sources, which I simply don't know when will happen)

Well, I respect your opinion too. I don't know why you think that "I am intentionally doing Merit begging"?. Nah, That's not the point. From my account stats, You can easily see that I don't need merits to rank up since my activity is still 280 and my merit count is near 350. I need 150 merits to rank up, which is not so hard if I become more serious. But, Since I have to wait seven more months to fulfill the activity for the next rank, Why do I have to hurry for merits? This topic is not about Merit Stats. This Topic is about Inactive Merit sources—the Persons Who have contributed to this forum. The sad thing is when someone remembers them on a single dedicated thread. Bitcointalk becomes rude to the thread creators.

Those aren't fishing for Merit. The first OP doesn't need it, the second OP couldn't care less about it.

Your list doesn't make much sense. I know for a fact that it's incomplete, and you seem to not know about (up to 400) airdropped sMerit, which means your list is flawed from the start.

Well, I thought members only received the merits from Airdrop. I didn't realize that half of the amount was also added to their sMerit.

No matter what was the point of this thread but surely some members found some negativity. I am locking this thread.
