Why Token Swap?

Token swap often happened when them want reduce or increase the number of token supply or migration from V1 to V2, as so doing that many airdrop participate may missed the opportunity of swap Manuel, while some are automatically swapped towards among the token holders.

I think you are talking about token migration. It does happen to change the function of the token contract. Yea, probably the project don't want to pay Airdrop or bounty participants, that's why they don't allow you to swap token and only investors are able to swap. Projects' intentions are to make money and make us fool, for example, some projects migrate to add tax. That means every trader has to pay tax when making trade transactions. It has to be implemented on the smart contract hence they migrate.

I did few airdrop when I was learning about crypto currency and what I discovered from the airdrops I did was that most of the Altcoins project carry out "token swap". They swap from their old contract to a new contract. Most times they only swap investors token but don't swap airdrop participants token. My question is why do some Altcoin project do Token Swap?

Of course the reason most often done by the team is to make changes so that the token price will increase. Though they are not able to control the number of coins that have been circulating. Maybe some investors who are active in the group will get the new token, while those who are not active will not get it. Once the circulation amount is controlled, they can pump up the token price on the new smart contract. If they did hand out the new tokens to holders on the previous smart contract, of course they could send it without having to ask to fill out a form, or so on.

Most times they only swap investors token but don't swap airdrop participants token. My question is why do some Altcoin project do Token Swap?

All tokens on hold that are currently on the supported wallet will be taken into the snapshot regardless of whether how users acquired those coins.

Can you tell me what coin or token that did a swap before where airdrop tokens didn't eligible on that swap?

Technically, that was hard to implement into a contract as airdrop tokens are part of the original chain. If that's the case, then the old investors' token won't be included too and all coins on the new chain should be purchased new.

Many projects distribute their bounty or airdrop tokens among hunters or escrow them with the manager and then change the token's contract address. As a result, these tokens have no value because they are not listed on the exchange. With the token of the new contract address, they do a token sale.

There’s an instances like this but the legit project are doing this for a more cheaper network, the only problem is that if they did this update and some token holders are not included especially those token that came from bounty. If a new project did this one, you have to think again and continue to monitor that project because it can turn into a scam project. Token swap are very popular for this two scenario, better to stay cautious.

I see that too. some projects were changing their smartcontract and got bunch of complaints caused by hunters being abandoned from token swap. That's a new way for scammer to cheating the marketing participants. that's why i always avoiding the token with only a few token holders.
This can be cheating anytime, i'd prefer to take the token with so much token holders caused by the dev needs to pay huge fees to be able to swap the contract.
