I did few airdrop when I was learning about crypto currency and what I discovered from the airdrops I did was that most of the Altcoins project carry out "token swap". They swap from their old contract to a new contract. Most times they only swap investors token but don't swap airdrop participants token. My question is why do some Altcoin project do Token Swap?

swap is most often just an excuse.
creating a false image that something new is happening, further development, or whatever the team's excuse is. the truth is that some kind of denomination or worthless token is actually being carried out, the holder will get a new token/coin in a 10000:1 relation. and it's actually a little trick to keep the token/coin tradeable because its value is no longer the eighth decimal place.
also, an excellent possibility that all tokens of inactive holders will be burned (because they did not do the swap on time). thus reducing the total number of tokens in circulation and seemingly increasing liquidity.
All of you who collect the airdrop are just the current marketing momentum. in the long term, no one is counting on you as supporters, hence the reduced concern when that specific moment passes.

Some contract swaps also happen because a chain is cheaper or considered more innovative than the previous one too (this might just be a way to get investors to hope you're going to make something worthwhile or there might be a genuine plan behind it if the token is still going well/above ico price).

I've seen some tokens do badly and have their developers offer a buyback scheme on a new protocol too (with the same contract but with an additional function where coins are wrapped inside the contract so when you burn your tokens you'll get a proportion back out in your original currency).

You already have the answer in your question. They swap investor's tokens and don't swap airdropped tokens because this will make airdropped tokens obsolete and not "affect the price of their token" in their imagination since airdrop hunters usually just tend to sell off most of the time.

Other times, the tokens are just usually scam and token swap is just an excuse.

Simply because they are using "compensation" by means of swapping chains and tokens, for "improvement" of the projects. To some projects before, there are really investments which became better when they do this procedure because of smaller transaction fees and ofcourse, faster. But mist of the time, as everyone have mentioned in this topic, it is just an excuse that the project did not meet its expected 'success'. This is also evident to some of the p2e projects at this moments wherein they are changing their mother token to again attract investors, once the first one never did an impression to the market.

It just shows how the project was rushed. They sell their tokens to private investors and pay marketers for peanuts with tokens that were minted in an hour or so. Developers knew that the token doesn't have the features they were putting out in their whitepaper so they do token swaps when investors start asking for results.

Token swap is just another term for salvaging a project that proved to be a failure. Most crypto teams do this in hopes that a new token would help them overhaul what their project is which will in turn, attract new investors or old investors to reconsider the token once more. Kinda like a breath of fresh air, except that it's the same old thing facelifted to make it look fresh and new. I don't buy the idea behind token swaps, but it obviously works because a lot of people still buy them even though they know it's the same thing.

To avoid dumpers. Mostly of airdrop participants were dumpers. They will dump their tokens and then once the tokens didn't have enough liquidity, it will make the price to go down instantly. I have been learning from so many cases about that, it seems like this time the developers were always picking the token swap as an answer to avoid the airdrop participants. yeah this is that i have seen a lot including me as well i usually sell right away money that i got from airdrop or bounty for hard cash money unless the coin is really have potential

So what the project owners do at times is not a fair token swap. They do all that just to render aordropers' tokens worthless. Sure, I learned my lessons too, but I'm not going to do any airdrop of any sort.

If thats the case then that is unfair and not honest at all. If they did an airdrop to some or incentivized bounty and renounced a swap and only investors tokens were swap then thats bullshit. Its also paet od the tokenomics and obviously deceiving on part of the community. Yes it is free but thats why there is logical attachement to those airdrops. It help marketings and also boost conifidence of the project. If they done that then surely a lot of negative comment on them.

indirectly they don't want users of airdrop tokens to dump on exchanges, usually projects like that always have strange reasons while what happens is their own team dumps them until the price drops, better leave projects like that they don't value you as a holder of tokens airdrop instead of changing new contracts and performing swaps or migrations that are only available to investors

Mostly the reason why devs go in this option is they want to hype back their token again. They want to make people believe that there's something good to happen on their token and token swap is part of development happening on their project then the price would pump after that. They want to try to increase their volume by this way and this nothing to do with those airdrop participants.

Correct if  I wrong,
I don't think with swap but most right words about new smart contract update for coins with BSC network chain and usually have automatically receiving with new coins have update with new smart contract address. I don't think have different service between airdrop and investor because all contract update automatically depending coins hold on the wallet, but ever with last project I invested, need process manually about upgrade to new contract but I am late for swap to new coins after not active on telegram group coins and loss above $2,000 with my investment coins.

In the past, they do the same with the airdrops and bounty participants because they are obliged to do so and these people are helpers to them when they were just promoting their projects. but right now, this seems to be an additional problem for the bounty hunters because they need to deal with this kind of tyranny from these people and if you don't get updated with such a project, you are not gonna get anything from your works. I mean you won't have a chance to sell your tokens and you ended up keeping them without getting any help from them.

even some projects that are already running and have a market also sometimes do that. if all it does is renew the contract address. usually, it's related to reducing the token supply or creating new tokens, but usually, old token holders will still get new tokens from the project.

but if the two tokens are on different chains. such as tokens that are already traded using the ethereum chain (erc20). while bounty hunters (marketing) will get the same tokens using the binance smart chain (bep20). looks like the case will be different.

Some projects attract investments from the most famous blockchains, such as Ethereum or Binance smart chain. Then they launch their blockchain and do a token swap. Other projects are moving from their blockchains to popular or growing ecosystems such as Cosmos or Solana and others. The reasons must be sought in the groups of the project, there is no single answer.

Airdrops are now very few who value participants, but if you have the spare time to do so it's okay to try and keep your luck, because sometimes there are still some airdrops that give you the value you deserve.

That's right, airdrops are different from bounties that can be done for how many weeks, if the airdrop is only one job waiting for results, if we get a good one we can JP but otherwise if it's a scam project we don't get anything

Hmm so far i have only heard about token swaps that needed to happen because a project was finally able to roll out their own blockchain so you could finally swap your Ethereum-token for example for the real native token that is running on the new blockchain. Another cause for a token swap would be if the contract was hacked or a critical vulnerability in the code was found.
If a swap happens with out a real reason and then only the tokens from investors get swapped but not from airdrop participants like you have mentioned, then you know that this is a shady project that only did an airdrop in order to boost their follower numbers but then tricked those participants with the swap. Very shady and also a scam in my opinion.

Token swap is happened for the several reasons. First of all, i think most of the projects offers huge number of tokens in their promotional campaign but they will create new contract address before listed on the exchanges due to avoid price dump by the airdrop hunters. Secondly, i see when a project attacked by the hackers then team will go to the create new token.
