In many industries and fields, speaking the truth isn't well-received because lies align with the beliefs of the masses and serve the interests of those in power.

Priceless virtues like integrity and truth are not cherished in society anymore. People now place more attention on money and materialism. Most people no longer care if your wealth is from lies and other immoral behavior. In some organizations, you might face problems if you are truthful. There are times you will be forced to twist facts because your coworkers might see telling the truth as a betrayal.

A police officer in my country was sacked because she was brave enough to expose some illegal activities going on in the force. Another staff in an oil company was killed because he exposed how the company was stealing from the country. Since society celebrates money more than morals, politicians are having a free day because only few people can challenge them.

But we have to keep embracing and promoting truthfulness, regardless of what it will cost us.

Truth be told, we are leaving in a society were no body values truth anymore, people no longer care about there integrity and moral anymore. For you to speak the truth is like blocking some set of people from achieving there selfish aim perhaps risking your own life at the process.

However seeing a sincere person this days is very difficult and merely in our society but I pray God help.

The truth can be painful and cause discomfort and most humans like to dwell in ignorant bliss without the painful process of having objective or rational thought or dialogue but would prefer the guberment to do it for them while they discuss celebs, football or some latest twitter trend etc. They are defined as "lukewarm" . Back in the days there is the saying that "only the truth can see us free" but revise be the case now because of you tell the truth, you will be arraigned, prosecuted and sabotaged for your honesty.

It is a simple way of explaining the decadence and how degraded our moral and ethical standards have become as a people, generally. It's a generational thing, the milennials who are oftentimes referred to as the Gen Y, seemed to be more morally sound than the Gen Z. I also know one thing that has contributed to this degenerated issue is as a result of social media influence.any

Many young people have tried to adopt foreign culture without knowing and are left in the dilemma of whether they should follow their own culture or to follow the culture of other foreigners. In this regards, Maitama Sule also said, 'many people that leaves their culture or abandoned their culture will lose their respect and identity, any people that try to emulate an alien culture will end up being a poor caricature of what they're trying to copy, they will be out of source everywhere and at home no where'.

Stick with what you believe in, if you believe in Truth stick to it and if you believe in lie stick to it too, both are our choice to make, I have integrity and I don't let anyone push me around. Easier said than done, I bet when asked, most people would answer the same as you, including me. Most people say that they would never go against morality just for personal gain, and only care about the interests of the crowd and the people. But when we fall into that situation and the benefits we receive are so great, it can help us become rich, powerful...will we not be tempted and betray ourselves? Honestly, I doubt it.

We can assert that we always stand on the side of truth, this may be true when the benefits we receive are not so great but if those benefits exceed our expectations. That would be a completely different situation. Because human nature is greedy, selfish and always puts personal interests first, we should not deny that. That is why many politicians are good people when they are small officials, but the higher the position, the more evil they become. We will be no different from them because we are all human.

The truth is one strong word that does not need to much definition to be able to understand what it means, truthfully speaking people don't usually like mentioning it because of what it stands for .

We are tempted all the time, as life keeps bringing new challenges and dilemmas each new day. Life is a constant sequence of tests and trials. However, it's always up to you to fall for such temptations or not. I believe each situation we resist, gives us more strength and motivation to continue resisting future temptations.

Our history says a lot about ourselves. If you remember all the times your principles and values spoke louder than your desires for power and richness, you will be able to continue loyal to what you truly believe, especially if you are able to see ahead a little bit, meaning that to betray yourself won't bring good fruits at all... It's just an illusion.

I think that is the whole point of getting away from The Truth: the promised pleasures and rewards are illusory. Honesty and trustworthy people may look scarce in our society this days especially in Africa. This is because they either kill you or deny you of your promotion at work if you are truthful and honest. This days the little ones self are full of dishonesty and corruption. Although most of our leaders have indirectly taught their community member to be corrupt. Imagine when you are being detained for revealing the truth about a corrupt incident. Would you love to say the true next time? Our community nowadays doesn't support and encourage truthfulness, so only those that are fully God fearing that can stand to their feet and still remain honest and truthful.

I think the world can never be saved from the truth because it's almost in all industry and fields that manufacturers uses lies to fed us in a daily basis. If you take a look at the soft drinks aspect especially Coca-Cola, they had been feeding us with so many lies and the government keep supporting them allowing to keep telling us the opposite of the truth. If you also check the pharmaceutical industry, I think that is one of the worse industry feeding us with lies about the drugs we are taking which do have severe effects on us causing other future complications that will never be disclosed. This lies have been there for centuries and don't see any signs of it stopping soon.
