Intel's Arc 140V "Xe2" iGPU For Lunar Lake Delivers Great Performance In CompuBench Graphics Tests
The Lunar Lake CPUs are getting tested more frequently than before as we approach the launch next week. We have already seen a couple of benchmarks of Core Ultra 200V CPUs but very few of their Xe2 iGPUs. This time, we have the leaked benchmark of the Intel Arc 140V integrated graphics, which will be part of Intel Core Ultra 7 and Ultra 9 processors. The Arc 140V was previously tested on Compubench, roughly a month ago. Once again, the Arc 140V "Xe2" GPU has been spotted on Compubench but now with more accurate representation of the performance.

Intel announces its new Battlemage graphics cards, and they might just be the 1440p budget champions we've been waiting for

Intel officially announced its latest discrete graphics cards on this week, the Intel Arc B580 and Intel Arc B570, based on its next-gen Xe2 graphics architecture.

Targeting the budget gaming segment, the new flagship Intel Arc B580 GPU features 20 Xe-cores, 20 ray tracing units, 160 XMX AI Engines and 12GB GDDR6 memory with a 192-bit memory interface, specs that could make it a very competitive 1440p graphics card.

The Intel Arc B570, meanwhile, features 18 Xe-cores, 18 ray tracing units, 144 XMX AI Engines, and 10GB GDDR6 memory with a 160-bit memory interface. And while this is less than the Arc B580, it is more memory bandwidth than the Nvidia RTX 4060 Ti and AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT, both of which struggled when it came to 1440p gaming in gaming benchmarks due to their constrained memory bandwidth.

What might be even more compelling for gamers right now, though, is the launch price of the two cards, with the Intel reference cards debuting at $249 (about £195/AU$385) and $219 (about £175/AU$340), respectively, though third-party cards from Acer, ASRock, Gunnir, and others will vary in price.

The Arc B580 will launch first on December 13, 2024, with the Arc B570 going on sale the following month on January 16, 2025.

Nvidia RTX 4060 vs. Intel Arc B580
50 Game Benchmark

Intel still has work to do, but the good news is that there's significant room for improvement. This gives hope that Intel can fully unlock the B580's potential. It was a pleasant surprise to find the testing relatively issue-free, with only a few games experiencing frame pacing problems and one game currently not working. Despite of this, the Intel Arc program has come a long way.

Building on the conclusions from our Arc B580 reviews, this new benchmark data doesn't drastically alter our assessment. The Intel GPU is still more likely to encounter performance issues compared to the more established Radeon RX 7600 and RTX 4060, which is why we believe a 20% discount is justified.

It looks like Intel's high-end Battlemage GPUs still have some life in them

Intel may be preparing to release high-end Battlemage GPUs.
Leaked shipping manifest hints at production of G31 silicon.
Intel's upcoming presentation at Computex could reveal more details.
Despite launching the Arc B580 to rave reviews just a few months ago, we haven't heard much about Intel's Battlemage GPUs since. With a turnover in leadership and yet another round of layoffs, rumors floated around that Intel would can its discrete graphics business. A leaked shipping manifest suggests otherwise.

Intel Partner Prepares Dual Arc "Battlemage" B580 GPU with 48 GB of VRAM
If you recall NVIDIA's GTX TITAN Z GPU with two GPU dies and an impressive 6 GB of memory, it was a big deal at the time and quite an interesting engineering solution. Today, thanks to sources close to VideoCardz, we learn that Intel's Arc "Battlemage" B580 could get the next dual GPU, dual VRAM treatment. According to the source, an unnamed Intel add-in board partner is preparing to launch a GPU with two B580 dies and 48 GB of VRAM. This means that the 24 GB VRAM version of the Arc B580 we saw in EEC filings is basically confirmed, and that some models will be out for display very soon. While the BMG-G21 chip offers up to 20 Xe cores and 2,560 shader units, a dual BMG-G21 configuration will yield 40 Xe cores and 5,120 shader units working in tandem with 48 GB of VRAM.

Clearly, this model is mostly tailored to AI enthusiasts. No game (thankfully) requires 48 GB of VRAM for now, but it is still nonetheless an interesting solution to see. It has been a while since we got something like a TITAN Z, even in high-end form factors. There is a rumored Intel Arc PRO A60/B60 card carrying a B580 die with 24 GB of VRAM, tailored for local AI workloads and professional visualization. This GPU could be the base for the newly rumored dual B580, 48 GB SKU from an unnamed Intel AIB partner. We expect to hear more details at Computex, which is now just a week away!
