People come and go, this has nothing to do with mixers or banning mixer signatures. People spend more time on social media. Those platforms are more suitable for quick access to information and instant interaction. Forum culture is just a habit of dinosaurs like us from the past. Grin
It's normal for new members to come in small numbers and for some old members to leave. I'm also a member of many forums besides here. When I compare them with this forum, I can say that the current state of the forum is quite good.
a dinosaur 😆
Quite good besides outdated theme. Other forum i joined always update their UI. A few which like this site is usually forum about outdated things like traffic exchange stuff

Id say the mood around here depends just as much on the managers running these campaigns as it does on the moderators.  Both of them shape what kind of place we have.

Those really strict posting rule is what makes crap post always abundant as people forced to write in specific sub even though there is nothing to write

Many of this good posters are now in Exch, Bcgame and Blackjack campaign but the payment is very lower than the mixers that have been banned on this forum. Do you think that the low pay makes some reputable posters to leave the forum in the name of no freedom of speech and censoring? Or I am just wrong about it.

Other reputable members here came across even without the signature because some of them want to gain knowledge about the bitcoin, it feels just the signature is an extra income with your contributions to the community, and imagine the number of information you can see here that might help with your path taking in crypto and knowledge. People have a life outside this forum so it's normal if you can see them inactive for a day or even weeks without prior notice.

One thing I know is that as some people will go, some people will come.

Most of the time I've seen this to the newbies who created an account in the forum and made a post on how to earn money, once they can't deal with it, and add on with the merit system they abandon their account like nothing happened.

One thing I know is that as some people will go, some people will come.

Or not. Or just a lot more people will leave than will come.

As I commented in another post, there was a golden age of poker in which those of us who lived it only realized that we had lived it a posteriori, when we were already in full decline.

Maybe the time of the best discussions is over and the time where the best posters were paid the best for such discussions, like $250 or more, too.

I don't know if you have ever seen a forum traffic die? Like, visit it after a while and realize that the last reply to most threads in the main section is weeks old.

I'm not saying it's necessarily going to be like that but it's certainly a possibility, and recent events point to it (ban on mixers, traffic drop).

During the mixers days on this forum, some good posters were visiting this forum daily and contributing good. Some of them are in mixers campaigns and they were collecting huge amount of money but which might still be small for them if they are living in a well developed country. Small or not small, it is still money that can help.
And what do you suggest?

I said the money can help because Chipmixer was paying $300 which is $12000 in 28 days and $15600 in a year. That amount is not small in a way we can call it small. It can still be used to pay for house rent and some bills in well developed countries like the United. Mixero was paying $250 weekly. Sinbad was paying $200. It went to the point that Tumbler came and paying $250 for 25 posts weekly.
Raise their rates to the previous levels of mixer signature campaigns? Or maybe @Theymos should pay them extra from his own/forum reserves? Smiley

Give examples of those who left the forum after the ban on advertising mixers on bitcointalk. In my opinion, all active forum users are still here. Perhaps the number of their posts has decreased, because the previous maximum limits of posts per week (like 50 posts in CM) as there were in mixer signature campaigns are no longer there. Even taking into account the fact that in the current signature campaigns the payouts are more modest than in mixers, this is still a very pleasant bonus just for communicating on the forum. So, I am sure that without any particular reason, active users will not leave the forum for a very long time.

One thing I know is that as some people will go, some people will come.
Then why are you worried? This is a natural process of updating and cleaning the forum. Without fresh minds, development stops.

You echoed my thoughts. Those who have been on the forum for a long time have seen people who came to the forum later than them. And today, these people are already becoming heroes and legends, which may be evidence that the forum is attractive to newcomers. Today's newcomers have plenty of opportunities to learn a business that will soon be of universal importance. Bitcoin is becoming more expensive, and knowledge acquired a long time ago also becomes even more valuable and experienced for those who accumulate it.

The honest truth is that mixer campaigns paid higher in terms of post incentives but since there's non high paying campaign, it still made some members lose interest on the forum pluse the fact that they can not talk freely and make reference to some sites for Bitcoin privacy.

I will rule out the not talk freely part, yea the forum has been placed under some certain restrictions which are just word of url filtering to direct mixer sites not to promote mixers as signatures (since they contain the url too) but all other freedom of the forum still exists so I wouldn’t say the reason why the whole lots of members left were solely because of lack of freedom.

The word filtering is actually what am referring to as not being able to give someone a proper description. We knows that in the space, their are lot of scammers who tries to use the website of another successful company and if you do look closely, you can log in to the wrong site and get scammed. So, if you were to direct someone to a mixer site and you can not put the link, it makes it look so unusual like th old forum we used to know.   You can drop link to anything site you want as long as it's not a malware or a phishing link. I just believe it became boring for some members and they just left.

That may not have also been the only reason they left, some of those members have their personal reasons.

Nobody can deny the facts you said, where many people are leaving the forum, due to the ban of mixers and anything related to them, the amount of signature campaigns back then was very good and almost filled all the active members, getting paid weekly and motivated to be creative in the forum. Quality posts were way better when mixers  were allowed, however, we also can’t deny that this step were necessary for the forum to stay away of many troubles by the government chasing these platforms and services.
The forum was always the best destination for quality members and will always stay this way, I believe that after all what happened, something better may appear and things will get better, as much as we believe in bitcoin we also should believe and keep our quality posts here, not only for the sake of signature payments, but to share and spread your knowledge, information, truth and ideas here, at the same time many visitors will appreciate you.

There are super newbie accounts popping up every once in a while and they will become legendaries soon and make up for the losses of the old big names. As long as there is an incentive to post, the forum will always attract good posters and good posters will attract more readers and the cycle will keep feeding itself.
I don’t feel that as a signature campaign participant, I am receiving just a very low compensation. In fact, no other company would offer as much as this and to think that it’s a weekly payout, then that becomes more attractive most especially to breadwinners.

As long as we are being paid here, new members will continue to enter and hope to be a part of a signature campaign. With how hard it is right now to find a good job outside this forum, having this kind of side job should never be ignored. Except for those who are still not aware that crypto signature campaigns exist.

Just like bitcoin, the forum is not for everyone. Although they might make some efforts of learning and knowledge acquisition, but eventually, they quit and leave the forum. Maybe because the interest is no longer there or they just turned lazy to keep updated with the forum.

However, I don’t think this will create a problem. The forum is widely open so expect that if there are people who chose to leave, others will also take the chance entering the forum. It’s just that we all have different impression with the forum, some find it an ideal place to stay longer and become more educated about crypto while some are just good for visiting only.

We just have to accept that people come and go, that's how it is and no matter the reason, it will always be this way. We have to understand that people in this forum have their lives outside of the forum and I think that we just have to respect that they're not going to be back here also, some people just don't have the time anymore and they probably don't see the worth of staying here, it's not like if they leave that the forum that they will stop investing in the forum, or maybe they're just taking a long extended break in this forum and they want to do other things although I don't get why the need to do that given that you can still log in from time to time.

@ibminer after a legendary user has gone inactive or RIP, you could use BPIP to notify.

What exactly do you mean, Vod? On bpip.org there is an hourglass next to the nicknames of those who have not logged in to the forum for some time. I understand you know that for a fact and are not referring to it.

I don't have a list, but a few signature services were paying more than $200 per month, and the problem currently is not that mixers are banned, but rather that there are no signature campaigns other than gambling, which often focus on ad impressions more than the quality of posts, so you see most campaigns paying less than $100 but it employs more than 30 members.

$1200 in 28 days you mean I guess. Well you are certainly right about the fact that lower paying rates for signature campaigns had an impact on that trend. But social medias also have their share of responsibility IMO. Traditional internet forums are less visited than they used to be. Most users here are wearing a signature advertising something, and newcomers are looking for doing it too. So I think people coming here are less looking for information or for a community to belong thas they use to be, actually.

I meant maybe a text banner at the top of the page for a day or two,   Announce the event vs recording it for posterity.

P.S.  Can't be guessing what I know for a fact after what I went through.   I have lost a lot of memory.  Smiley

I read this topic Is this forum getting worse and worse?

During the mixers days on this forum, some good posters were visiting this forum daily and contributing good. Some of them are in mixers campaigns and they were collecting huge amount of money but which might still be small for them if they are living in a well developed country. Small or not small, it is still money that can help.

One thing I know is that as some people will go, some people will come.

I read this same topic and now it has made me wonder where else they would have gone to when they left the forum? Probably some other forum or some other part of this crazy world wide web. Just because the mixers have left and the posters associated with them have gone to some other website doesn't mean that we have completely lost our way as a forum. The forum is still the exact same forum lol and I agree with you that people come and people go. There are plenty of other camps to become familiar with with similar comp.
