it depends on the policy of each e-commerce, some accept but some do not accept bitcoin. but it is possible that if bitcoin adoption increases and more people use it in their transactions, then it is possible that large e-commerce like amazon will accept bitcoin payments on their platform. but for now we still see not too many e-commerce accepting it because maybe they don't want to bother holding bitcoin on their platform and don't want to work with exchanges for direct exchange of the bitcoins they receive.

A lot of e-commerce sites have already started to accept Crypto (BTC) as a payment method along with others. I think you did not check before asking this question. Well, the most famous E-commerce stores like eBay or Amazon have not yet accepted BTC as a payment methods, and its very logical as they don't have to, as most of there customers are already happy with the debit or credit card system. They don't need crypto.

And TBH I don't think many people would be shopping things online via crypto if these sites would have allowed them to. BTW here is the list of 23 online shopping sites where you can use BTC for payment methods (Sites list). If you want to open a store on Shopify or your own site then you can also integrate the BTC payment method in it easily with not so much difficulties.

Big companies like Amazon would rather create a cryptocurrency token that can be used to accept payment on their platform. One thing about these companies is that they do whatever they need to do that will make them outstanding and unique from the rest. Also, they want to keep their customers on their sites without having to move out of the site to do other things. Using this idea they prefer to launch their token for payment to make their business purely unique from others.

These are the types of questions asked like some years back and not anymore. Apart from the gambling industry, e-commerce is among the leading industries to accept bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. The questions about bitcoin as a system of payment should bother on sustainability and no longer acceptability.

I don't know about e-commerce place but I know some vendors that accept Bitcoin as a settlement of debts, you see them more in numbers during the bear markets, the Bitcoin they collect aren't for sale immediately, they hold it throughout and then sell during the bull run and they make their profits like nothing happened because they also understand how valuable it's to hold Bitcoin.

As for USDT, I'm not sure about it but I don't see the difference between USDT and fiat, why accept USDT as payment when you will pay more tax in crypto than when you can do it with fiat and pay small tax, also don't forget that USDT Tether is fond of suspending some wallet address they found suspicious, it's not a good idea to use stablecoin for your business, I will even prefer Bitcoin than usdt.

A decade is too far in my opinion.

I also don't think it will happen this year but I am expecting it to happen 2 years from now at least. Crypto is being widely adopted now in all industries and if bitcoin's performance continues and more investors get interested, for sure many will follow.

Once a platform starts and accept bitcoin, it will only be a matter of time before the rest of the world follows through in fear of being left behind and losing customers.

Crypto's not just the future, its the now. You see it in everything. After stocks and real estate, e-commerce is next. Bitcoin? Its big. Gold standard. But its not always the right tool for the job. It is slow and expensive. Online purchasing requires speed and reliability. Therefore, other cryptos are needed. Consider Sol. Designed for transactions. Faster, cheaper. This is what online stores require. They must take you in and out smoothly. Bitcoin is fantastic. It has great promise. However, other players are superior for this game right now.

Crypto is my thing. As with anything, you need the correct tool for the job. Bitcoin's future is bright. Always changing and improving. But for now, for e-commerce, there might be better options out there.

They should've done this a long time ago, I mean bitcoin's been around for a really long time already like a decade plus now and they're still not accepting bitcoin as payment goes to show that they don't have the balls to risk things. I do get the reason why they don't want to do it though, I mean bitcoin is an unstable investment after all and most businesses doesn't really like the idea of their money stagnating because they're losing money if they sell now because the prices have gone much lower than it should be but that's not a valid excuse, you can just use the bitcoin directly to pay the stuff that you need to be paying, that way, you're not making any mistake of selling at a loss, bitcoin in terms of popularity is that it's already famous for some people and so you might be able to find merchants for your supplies that will accept your bitcoin as is, it's a matter of finding them though so when you're a business that's going to do this, do your research.

Possible actually, given that this industry is on digital payment transactions. But of course things will depend on the owner of the business. Some wouldn't be considering it and there will be those who would. Not only e-commerce but also with other online businesses especially if more customers of them will demand of it. Nothing guarantees, actually. It could be within years or decade but what we should focus more is its tendency to happen. It would be an advantage if more businesses will adopt blockchain technology especially with big transactions. So for now let us enjoy little developments from this industry because it will just continue on the next years.

There are handful of them already accepting Bitcoin as payments method but we are awaiting for any eCommerce giant like Amazon to accept Bitcoin as payments method which will create more buzz in the market and push more people to use Bitcoin. Unless a buyer is buying something of huge amount and they do not want the inconvenience and hassle of having to convert their bitcoin to fiat when making that purchase, I also do not see many people making small transactions for a huge price.

It will be good for the brand, but I don't think it would be very practical.

A lot of websites, services, and stores online are accepting Bitcoin for payment, even Microsoft has started accepting Bitcoin as payment for digital purchases on their store and Xbox store and it is one of the biggest companies of the world. So I'm pretty sure that major eCommerce platforms such as Amazon will start accepting it as well in the future.

The biggest reason that I can think of about why they are not using it right now is the regulatory complications and maybe the excessive taxation from the governments for Bitcoin in developed countries such as the USA where most of these companies operate, and they wouldn't want to pay a lot of their revenue in taxes only for accepting Bitcoin.

e-commerce will be subject to regulations where they operate, so as long as Bitcoin is legal, it certainly doesn't rule out the possibility that some e-commerce sites will add Bitcoin as a payment method. But is it worth it to spend a few dollars if you can still pay with cash? I mean by far I don't really want to throw away a few dollars in Bitcoin for payments + fees.

You will now find crypto options as payment gateways on some sites. Bitcoin or other crypto coins like PayPal and bank cards are already being accepted as payment, for example at popular domain hosting provider namecheap.com you can buy hosting by paying with crypto. And day by day many other sites are starting to accept crypto as payment. So we can expect to see the option to pay in crypto on e-commerce sites in the future.

Most companies will at some point accept BTC because of the way it goes up in value and is going to continue to go up in value because fiat is inflationary. They're going to print more of it and it's going to increase the supply every single year. Even last year when they said inflation is high and they had to hike rates they printed to send aid to Ukraine. They print every year, high or low inflation they make more money, which means that even water is going to get more expensive. Just look at bottled water 10 years ago and now - it doubled in price!

Companies will see a way to make some easy money of people who instead of turning it to fiat and paying tax will rather spend it in a store and save on taxes. At the moment spending bitcoin in a store is the safest, most anonymous way of getting goods because there's no tax and no way to track you down.

This seems like a fairly common question - but in the next post, the OP seems to want to know more about other companies in the future that might adopt bitcoin as a means of payment. The thread title is like click bait - I honestly expected him to ask about growth or even an analysis of possible growth in adoption across sectors.

Large-scale adoption growth is still very difficult to expect - but the growth in interest in adopting bitcoin continues to grow all the time. There are expected benefits from this adoption - certainly due to high demand from consumers. It is likely that the growth of payment systems via bitcoin or crypto will increase in the future when the whole world has started to re-regulate its legality.

There are already sites that accept payment in bitcoin for goods and services provided. A quick Google search would have provided you with some websites that already do so.

Exactly! When you say e-commerce it's everything transactions or stores that use electronic that we most use in our daily lives, but it does not mean it's not only Amazon but also other companies.

There are already lof of e-commerce company use Bitcoin as a payment method but still few, that's why there are some people who don't yet recognize Bitcoin.
The more payment methods available on a e-commerce is better especially if you have Bitcoin option.
