Luck is something that has excited the imagination of countless people for thousands of years.
For example, the Roman dictator Sulla (nicknamed "Lucky") readily agreed with those who believed that he was not smart, handsome, strong and brave enough.
Sulla said: "Yes, I know that I am not smart, handsome, strong and brave enough, but I am the favorite of the Gods. The Gods favor me! I am always lucky in everything I do. I am Sulla the Lucky! Therefore, I am the ruler of Rome and the richest and most powerful man on Earth!"
At the same time, the Romans believed in the luck of the dictator Sulla so much that (despite the fact that he had many ill-wishers and enemies) no one dared to organize conspiracies and assassination attempts on him. This is why Sulla died a natural death at a very old age.
This is the kind of influence the idea of Luck has on people ....
Lucky dictator you say? Hardly. "Accounts were also written that he had an infestation of worms, caused by the ulcers, which led to his death." Died at the age of 60, not "a very old age", if you ask me.
Luck in gambling is something else, I'm sure, and Sulla has nothing to do with that.
