Can you bet on a single game with 50.0 odd?

Sports betting always has a surprise result that rarely happens but will be profitable for bettors who dare to take the risk of betting on the underdog during the match. For example, Mainz vs Munich and the bookmaker gives very large odds to Mainz as the underdog team. When the match starts and Munich makes several attacks, Mainz's odds increase to be very large and bettors dare to bet on Mainz's victory and end up with the underdog team winning.

If you took such risk before, did you win?

I rarely do that but I remember doing it a few times on local sites betting during the game when the odds were around @8/@10 with a bet of around $0.1 and managed to win. But after that I never did it again and focused on lower odds and betting before the game started.

This is nothing new for so many of us because it happens continuously. Can anyone or have any of you here took such risk to place a bet on a single game with odd ranging from 10.00 - 50.00?

I wouldn't make that kind of bet, but talking about this Bologna game, I didn't follow the game, but my opinion is that since bookmakers are based on past and present events, they must have seen that in the last minutes Bologna had more possession of the ball and in the last game in which these two teams faced each other, Bologna scored a goal in the 85th minute, so they put Lecce with very high odds because there was a chance that Bologna would score another goal in the 85th minute onwards.

I believe that some of you here who are sport bettors must have experience of what I mean.

During a live match, we can tell that the odds of the game usually change continually depending on the bookmaker you are using.

Yesterday, I placed a bet, it was a parlay with 8 legs but I lost the bet because I predicted Bologna 1909 to win. Before the game started, Lecce had 5.00 odd while Bologna 1909 had 1.9 odd but after the first half time of the match, the odd of lecce have increased to 30.00 and it kept increasing, just few minutes to the end of the game, the odd was now 50.00

This is nothing new for so many of us because it happens continuously. Can anyone or have any of you here took such risk to place a bet on a single game with odd ranging from 10.00 - 50.00?

This kind of increase in odd in partially risky too for the bookies because someone could actually take the risk and end up to win the bet because the team that was expected not to win the match, can luckily score a goal during penalty or could just win in the last minute.

You are right and one of the reason why the odd of Lecce was increasing rapidly was because the chance or possibility of them winning Bologna is very small and secondly the odd was increasing simply because Bologna was possessing them and having some big chances but I have to come realize that sometimes possession and big chances doesn't mean the time will win because I have seen cases where after possessing and big chances they end up losing the game, so sometimes what I do is anytime I see such thing I will check their statistics and then if I should see a little conviction, no matter how big the odd I will play them to win but I always use what I can afford to loss and i due win sometimes while sometimes I also do make loss.

I wouldn’t consider it for a second. Even when that game is Barcelona Vs the bottom team on the table. I would feel something is up and something has got to be up else, how do you go for such an odd, it’s oddly. When you find big teams in that situation, you’ll just know they aren’t using there first eleven, probably have their youth team lined up. When it’s with other mid tier teams, then it’s a likely lost bet, I can’t go for such odd with low probability of success.

Most likely, I would never risk betting on such odds in a single bet either, I think they won't even give such odds if Barcelona plays the last team in La Liga, it's more likely if Germany plays against Liechtenstein, and in that case it's clear that they have no chance of winning, so I wouldn't even want to bet $1 on it, because I don't see any point in it.

I'd rather bet with odds of about 2 and bet more money, and know that I have a better chance of winning than bet with huge odds, and understand that such a bet has practically no chance of winning.

Why not? but are there that kind of odds still nowadays? I only knew about less than 20 odds. I don't think that the bookies are even going to have that much and it's still going to depend on how much the volume for that specific match. I have seen those folks that seem to be assured with 1.01 odds and yet they still lose their money. Someone who's bet a million dollars for that IIRC and was even posted in this section and yet lost that money. Sometimes it's worth it if you are playing once in a lifetime YOLO but not with a lot of money.

Of course there are, if you bet on correct score, the odds can be higher than 50.00 odds. But, we know how unrealistic the match would end in 4-4 or 5-5, usually in top teams, there are not many goals scored since both of them have good defense and they play better.

Those are unrealistic potential winning with that kind of odd but if someone is up for that and just like to waste and spend their money, they can go for it. Even though I am dumb, I won't be doing that gamble but since I've asked for it, you have just shown it to me that there is and you've proved that.

I would say betting with huge amount of money in very low odds is more dangerous than betting with small amount of money in huge odds, because you can be fine when lose small amount money.

Both are risky though. But I'll choose to bet with the low odds instead but with minimal amount and still, I won't be putting huge money on them.

Bookmakers know and understand much more about team in match and how they give odds for each team, usually most teams that are not favored do have fairly large increase in odds as the match progresses and this increase usually indicates that the team will not be able to win.
I have never tried to bet like that with risk that is many times greater even though it can be big win if successful, it just that the chance of success is below 1% and 99% more is failure.

The chance of winning in such a high odd is very low, sometimes it could even be 0.1% chance because I still made more observations after the day I created this topic and what I noticed is that, the winning team could actually have scored like 5 goals, while the losing team must have just scored 1 goal and it's just remaining 10 minutes for the match to end, that's when the bookie would even raise the odd of the losing team to 50 odds and above. In such a situation, anyone that is betting would just throw away their money. There are also some other rare cases of 10 odds which can luckily win but the chance is also low.
