That's how it is! This announcement was left for the end of the 2021 Bitcoin Conference with the participation of Jack Mallers. Among the most impressive that helped me understand why bitcoin will be the currency that will lead the country of El Salvador is this. At the conference the president of El Salvador makes the announcement. This news is an interesting one, bitcoin is making headway. I believe other countries to will do the same as time goes on. As a lover of bitcoin, this kind of news is palatable to the heart and I know it will stand as a motivational factor to us the bitcoin lovers. The more the good news, the more the interest and confidence among bitcoin investors.

Interesting to know that on this day 7th September 2021, El Salvador became the first country to adopt bitcoin and made it a legal tender and they currently own 6292 bitcoins. El Salvador is a good motivation for more countries to adopt bitcoin because if we look at the growth of their bitcoin portfolio since 2021, it's really worth emulating.
I saw this late, but thanks for the reminder. Nayib Bukele was very keen on Bitcoin, becoming the first country in the world to declare Bitcoin as its official currency, while some countries still oppose Bitcoin. However, I saw on the news that El Salvador purchased 21 Bitcoins for Bitcoin Day, which currently has 6,313 BTC in their holdings and is worth $702 million. El Salvador's future is going to be bright, they will improve a lot economically. You can't build "crypto Rome" in one day, as they say I think looking back to these events in the persepective, everybody will cherish them more and more, and what Bukele pushed through for it to happen.

Let those skeptical think that way since somehow government officials think about that since somehow they are the one who will missed a lot on Bitcoin. If they could see that in span of 4 years they make symbolic gains from Bitcoin and global visibility since they got lots of attention for their investment decision they made. Their dedication could bring lots of progress on their country and we already see those things happening in El Salvador. Imagine those many success they get for those years of their investment and yet other didn't get nothing. By the time they are interested to invest they would need to catch up and there's good chance that when they are ready price of Bitcoin would be more expensive for them to accumulate and with this EL Salvador would be the winner of future demands would came on Bitcoin.

Or those very early investors in Bitcoin, those adopters before 2012 who SODLed their Bitcoin because of mere political disagreements, and actually believing that Bitcoin would "die" if there was no block size increase. Those people are either holding the shitcoin BCash, or BCash SV. It's also probable that they're holding both with the belief that one of them is the "real" Bitcoin.

El Salvador Marks Bitcoin Anniversary With 21 BTC Purchase. El Salvador commemorated its fourth year of bitcoin adoption with a symbolic 21 BTC purchase. Despite the celebratory tone, El Salvador’s bitcoin policy remains under international scrutiny. Government officials highlighted several milestones. El Salvador has made a symbolic addition of 21 bitcoin to its national reserves, celebrating the fourth anniversary of its landmark decision to adopt bitcoin as legal tender. President Nayib Bukele announced the purchase on September 7, coinciding with “Bitcoin Day,” the date the legislation was formally approved in 2021. With this purchase, El Salvador’s treasury now holds 6,313 BTC, valued at over $701 million according to government data. The country reportedly invested $300 million to build its position, resulting in more than $400 million in unrealized gains. Progress since bitcoin adoption Government officials highlighted several milestones, including the establishment of the world’s first Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, the launch of the CUBO+ Bitcoin and Lightning developer program, and the certification of 80,000 public servants in bitcoin-related training. The legal framework for digital assets has also expanded, with an Investment Banking Law passed in 2025. Stacy Herbert, Director of the Bitcoin Office, emphasized the government’s commitment: “The Bitcoin Office has consistently delivered extraordinary results by focusing on only high integrity partners and projects for our team …and this is just the beginning.” Ongoing transparency debate Despite the celebratory tone, El Salvador’s bitcoin policy remains under international scrutiny. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has questioned the transparency of the country’s reported bitcoin holdings, suggesting in a July report that some increases may be due to internal asset reorganizations rather than new purchases. However, the government maintains that it continues to buy bitcoin daily. Looking ahead El Salvador’s approach positions the nation as a global leader in bitcoin integration, though questions remain about long-term sustainability and external oversight. The country’s bitcoin policy continues to attract both praise and skepticism as it marks four years since its historic move. https://bitbo.io/news/el-salvador-bitcoin-21-btc/

This is what I love about El Salvador, they've focused on bitcoin as their initial goal and continue to empower it in their economy.

Or they HODL alts and memes, it would all be the same: without BTC, there is no safe future for anyone. I believe not. If you were not here for the block size debate, then you wouldn't understand. Those people truly believed that what they were fighting for was the real path for Bitcoin. So therefore they followed their "leaders" to fork away from the network, believing that the majority of the community would follow. But what they probably don't know is Roger Ver still HODLs his Bitcoin, and will probably NEVER sell the majority of those coins because he truly knows BCash will NEVER by the real Bitcoin.

The number of initial investors may be very small. If you look for those who invested in Bitcoin before 2012, you will find very few who are still holding Bitcoin, but those who are found have become owners of millions of dollars today. Those who did not believe in Bitcoin, after investing in Bitcoin and did not believe in Bitcoin, invested in shitcoins or meme coins among altcoins, they could not maintain their position today, they could not improve. So I completely agree with you that no one has a safe future except Bitcoin. Bitcoin is the only currency that has a beautiful future and there is also a guarantee that people will see success in investing in the long term.
In the year you mentioned, it's understandable that there weren't many Bitcoin investors because Bitcoin was still relatively unknown and relatively young, considering the year it was launched (2009). But now, the number of Bitcoin investors has significantly increased, especially with the adoption of Bitcoin by several countries, including El Salvador as a pioneer. This has been followed by most companies, who are now accepting Bitcoin for customers who want to pay for certain products using it. So, it's not surprising that we're now seeing more investors excited about Bitcoin and continuing to invest in it for the long term. Furthermore, we've likely seen more people regretting their past doubts about Bitcoin, even though they were already familiar with it. This could be an example of how doubting Bitcoin was a very wrong move, as Bitcoin has provided enough evidence to convince the El Salvadoran government to truly believe in it and adopt it to this day.

El Salvador’s Bitcoin Beach Circular Economy Gains Global Recognition. El Salvador’s pioneering role in cryptocurrency adoption continues to receive global attention, as Forbes highlighted the success of the Bitcoin Beach circular economy project in a recent feature titled “This Bitcoin Circular Economy Project From El Salvador Goes Global.” The article, authored by digital assets contributor Javier Bastardo, explores how the initiative born in El Zonte, La Libertad, has become a global reference point for financial inclusion and innovation. The community-driven project originally inspired President Nayib Bukele to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender through the Bitcoin Law, positioning El Salvador as the world’s first country to integrate cryptocurrency at the national level. In the feature, project co-founder Roman Martínez emphasized ongoing adoption: “Adoption in El Salvador continues. We keep welcoming tourists, we keep educating communities and everyone who needs it and shows interest.” From small coastal beginnings, the project now influences communities worldwide, offering a model of how Bitcoin can support tourism growth, financial education, and social development. The Forbes recognition underscores El Salvador’s leadership in combining technology, community empowerment, and sustainable economic opportunities.
