Yes, but if you look closely, my argument had two parts. I understand that it is better to have bitcoin payments available than not to have them, even if they are converted to fiat currency beforehand. But the other part of my argument is that when you talk about a company, that company either accepts bitcoin for payments or it doesn't. But the clickbait article talks about bitcoin being accepted in Paris or Miami as a whole when in reality you can't pay with it (after converting to fiat) in even 5% of available rentals.

Exactly even though Bitcoin is legal currency there but most people do not use it for everyday shopping. Government under President Bukele has been regularly buying Bitcoin which they see as national asset. I think it's dangerous to pay rent using Bitcoin, I mean, we're tourists or immigrants where we have to be careful since we have no family or close people who can help us. Whenever I want to rent a flat, I act like a poor person in order to not make other occupants being curious and broke my door at midnight. Not to mention if the owner have extra key which can open my door. Hence, I bought a second lock door to make it more secure.

I think we surpassed the "bitcoin accepted here" sign many years ago, so trying to pin precise adjectives on certain products or things is somewhat irrelevant. I totally agree with SFR, there are lot of service that provide users to spend cryptocurrency on gift cards like Bitrefill, they are BitPay, Coinsbeeeven, CellPay, Paygoo, Prepaidify, Giftah, YAY, Cardtonic and much more. Im not from one of those company but Bitrefill is even offering 10% cashback in bitcoin. that is a two way transaction. Apologies! But I honestly think that paying rent in Bitcoin is a stupid proposition. Rent in many cities is a sizable amount. Do not spend your Bitcoin for anything right now. If you can, invest back into Bitcoin.

The world is moving to another global conflict. The Fiat money is not going to cover your expenses for the future. To save your Bitcoins in a way which can cover your future expenses.

Do not disappoint when Bitcoin price goes down by 10%. Rather make it a point to buy at that price point.

I'm also confused when someone pays rent with Bitcoin. Isn't Bitcoin better for investment? After all, when we own Bitcoin, it's better to keep it private to maintain our security. Paying with Bitcoin can actually put yourself at risk, so it's better to use Bitcoin as an investment rather than paying for something that can be done with fiat.

Personally, even if the country allows payments using Bitcoin, I would choose to sell it first and then pay with fiat. But this ultimately depends on each individual's comfort level, as we don't prohibit it. However, if you're concerned about safety, don't do it.
