Don’t give in to gambling bullying

I owe no one an explanation and no one owes me any bullying. I prefer gambling in silence most times, but if eventually I am talking about gambling with friend(s) and somehow someone who owes no value to my life just walks up and starts talking about gambling in a negative way, insulting me, I might not retaliate if the person is too elderly.

But if the person is still young of age but needs to be sent to the correctional center, I will help them with that using words so that next time they will learn how to mind their business and never interfere in matters that don’t concern them.

An important point that needs to be taken from this os privacy. A lot of people don't understand that privacy saves them from situations where they need to start explaining theirself to people. It's impossible for people to interrupt what they don't know. Gambling bullying would not exist if gamblers decide to keep their gambling activities private. Your wins and your losses should be your business alone

Yup, it's an important part of your gambling participations as you don't owe anyone's explanation, as long as you can handle your participation the way it should be and you are not bothering anyone or affecting anyone with your gambling activities, that kind of privacy will allow you to continue enjoying if ever that you really have that kind of connection into gambling.

Modern society has heard a lot of bad things about gamblers and bettors, but they hear little good, for example, that someone can earn money on a regular basis with these hobbies.
Therefore, over many decades, a negative image of a gambler has already formed, and most people believe that most likely, this is a problematic person with a shattered psyche and most likely with a desire to take a debt from someone.

Few months ago I had an argument with someone about gambling, I was trying to let this elderly man understand that gambling is different from gambling addiction. He kept saying that gamblers cannot be responsible people, this is the mentality of a lot of people. Gambling isn't all bad and I think the bullying behind it is absolutely ridiculous. I have never been scolded by anyone for gambling and one of the reasons for not being scolded is that I never participate in gambling in front of people. If I had participated in gambling in front of everyone and insulted people and participated in gambling in front of elders, then maybe I would have been scolded by my respected people since I never participated in gambling with anyone, that is why I did not get scolded. I will tell you another thing, I am an ideal boy in the area, everyone loves me and everyone knows me as good, besides, I never behave badly with people and do not speak bad language to young boys and girls, I always talk to them well, because of which I am a very good boy in the area, so if I had gambled in front of everyone, then of course people would have disciplined me and scolded me and this is definitely their duty.

The truth is that, whatever you do in life, there'll always be people who'll be at the opposite end of your views and such people would stop at nothing to make you feel the worst of yourself and only you can give them the opportunity to get at you, because if you care less about what they say about you, as long as you know you're not hurting anybody, then they'll have no single influence on you, but when you keep allowing yourself be moved by their ill words, you're giving them the opportunity to decide your fate.

As a gambler, it's very important to gamble responsibly because irresponsible gambling is the major reason why alot of people see all gamblers as irresponsible people, it is commonly said in my place that when one finger touches oil, the oil will spread to other fingers, this is what bad eggs in gambling are doing to the good gamblers, those who fail to gamble responsible not only destroy their own reputation but still end up destroying the reputation of other innocent gamblers who are doing their best to maintain a good and healthy gambling habit.

That's correct no body knows you more than you know yourself and that's why people shouldn't make decisions for you as you have your own life to leave. However gambling secretly have its own disadvantage because of in the future you became and irresponsible gambler which finally leads to addiction, you might need some help in terms of advice, so most times it's good for someone to know what you actually into, you don't have to keep it completely secret when you gamble.

Well the reason behind things like this is because of how most people have successfully used themselves to destroy the image of gamble by gambling irresponsibly and it has landed them to an open shame. If only people could learn to be greedy and gamble with only what they can afford  to lose then gambling wouldn't have to affect their lives  negatively. However  anytime people who have seen the effect of gamble in someone who gave himself to addiction see an open gambler the first thing that come to their mind is, you're also an addicted gambler who is probably gonna become like the addicted gambler they've seen.

In some respects I can identify. People make no secret about their opinions as to gambling, and it may attract bullying or negative remarks even when you do it responsibly. I think it depends much on being able to know your limitations and not letting people make your decisions. By being polite and being discreet with your gambling, as you said, this is a good way not to cause conflict. People can be emotionally wounded by it but once you feel sure of your choices, and provide responsibility, then it is easier to shake off the stares of others.

If you are doing anything in life that you are not proud of doing, then you shouldn't be doing them. No one has the right, to bully you in gambling not even your closest friends, partner, or family members. And the reason is because, you dont use money meant for the family to gamble without taking care of the basic needs, you do not borrow money to gamble, and you dont get addicted to it.

Yeah, you are right, every person has the right and the choice to choose what he wants to do in his life. If he chooses gambling, then it's okay, he must be an expert or at least have an understanding of the games and an interest in them. Gambling is just like other hobbies if he is playing it responsibly until he fully understands the risks and does not hurt anyone. If he is not addicted and is not borrowing money from others, then there is no reason to laugh at him. Instead, you can motivate him, or it would be suitable to not do anything that would make things harder for him.

This kind of bullying isn't uncommon, but for me, as long as I'm not harming anyone, why should I feel ashamed or guilty? I think the bottom line is, as long as I'm not harming anyone, I won't take any form of bullying seriously, even if it's just criticism.
If you're in a place that condemns gambling, there's no other way but to hide your identity. Furthermore, if someone criticizes you, I think you should just ignore it as long as you're not harming them.
