Satori Coin Physical Bitcoins: Testers Needed for Next-Gen Project

Does anyone from test group participants besides me have problem registering on new satoricoin website?

Registering from my country should be eligible, but for some reason I get message that it is restricted. Didn't have any problem when registering on old test website.

I am from EU, I had no issue with this step.
Just quick registration and thats all (still waiting for KYC verification after a couple of days, probably I had some mistakes on my side during this process)
Have you tried maybe to use a second connection like an hotspot? Or maybe you some firewall/VPN/ TOR on your browser?
Otherwise I think that the best option is to reach support I guess...

I tried to create account connected on mobile network and wifi but there was no difference. I'm not using TOR nor VPN so I guess that shouldn't be part of the problem. Still haven't got answer from support, just wanted to check if only I have thiss issue or it is more widespread.

I'm in Europe and an early tester ...I haven't been able to verify my identity ... it just keeps directing me to contact support...I've done that and awaiting reply

I waited patiently a couple of days trying to get the same serials of test coin... I sent a message to zendesk and issue related KYC has been fixed in a couple of hours. No documentation requested passport etc, just a message and issue solved.

doing the quick math of 3,000 coins with a load of 0.01 etc = about $3,500,000.  and its all locked up Muti sig,  who is given the power and control over this wealth? will there be a public vault address for clients to be able to see all customers holdings,  what stoping satori company from leveraging these holdings or using them as collateral for other things, I have many questions now that I think about it.   who else ?


Edit: now that I think about it, obviously there’s not a “main vault” address,  Each coin has its own address and each address has its own bitcoin on it but again, none of that is moving without the companies help. And the question is do we have a definitive answer of what are the names of the board of directors of this company? pictures of them information about them, who is actually in charge of the multi city key? Is it a group of people is it one person if it is one person what is their name? Again so many questions.

They seem to be thoughtfully designing in ways that innovate away from trust. I think it can work. Here is their explanation from the website:

Trustless Redeeming
Unlike the original Satori Coin, you no longer need to trust that we can access your private keys. Your Satori Coin Gi uses a 2-of-2 multisig address. You know both keys, but we only know one (the one inside). The second private key is genarated by you, client-side, and is never transmitted to us. You'll have all the keys and information you need to be sure that the value is really only yours, and is spendable even if we're no longer around.

Whenever the timing feels right, open your Redeem Kit and prepare your Satori Coin Gi by disassembling the two halves. Then, scan the QR code under the internal seal on the back with a Bitcoin wallet app of your choice. As a 2-of-2 multisig product, both the Satori Coin Gi and the Redeem Kit are needed to redeem.

I don't see any other change required in the trust process. IF a keymaker has a fail on his production, this will be independent from the type of key shared.
We have see in this forum sad stories on the past... I am not saying that a 2of2 as proposed here is a perfect solution...

Once I generated my redeem kit I noticed that the process is "immediate" since I create 2 in a short time frame .
Now I have 2 redeem kits with the same coin numbers - just one has been loaded.
Anyway, the second hand buyer must check on the website they have the right redeem kit

I still dont like this - it requires that you store the 2nd half of the key (your own) separate from the satori and hopefully did not make an error writing it down or storing or that you dont lose it. and if you sell it, the buyer has to hope the same and then also has to be comfortable with you knowing half the key.

This is not a "trustless" design - it doubles the requirement of trust in that you have to trust 2 sources not just 1.

The design of this coin is great and I was really looking forward to get one. But it feels kind of gimmicky and when I’m gone and my kids and/or grandkids want access to it then hopefully I have left some detail to know how to redeem. Can you buy these unfunded? I feel like I would rather keep it that way as a collector than to actually hold sats on.

Not yet received the reward (has never been distributed) but I have seen some details about the final works...
To answer to your question, If I am not wrong, the reward should be a Chi coin for the testers that have completed all the steps.

yes the coin they promised. but it's now several weeks (since August?) and no communication/information provided by them. communication is key.

for what I have seen, there was just the announcement/message that this reward will be distributed early to testers (before launching the new coin Chi).
After this, all efforts/message have been directed to Gi coin... Until the launch of Chi we can just wait as confirmed by them.

I have started to collect these items after many years here on forum/bitcoin. Yes this is an interesting item. If ypu don't count the loading the item by itself has a normal price for these items if sold empty.

It is the good item to start well, yes and no, these are personal tastes I would see this as nice souvenir/collectible/hi tech gadget...
