Has anyone had problems with missing balances on Cryptsy today? I noticed I have lost about 2/3 of my accounts value today according to the account BTC estimate. In trying to figure out what was going on I noticed that when I cancelled an unfilled order the amount held for my order wasn't actually getting refunded back to me. Anyone else notice this behavior? Its costing me a crap ton of coins and I haven't heard anything from support.

I know it sucks when your money is in the hands of someone else, but when I used to use Cryptsy, they have never 'lost' any of my coins. Now, their trading engine is complete shit, and sometimes deposits took forever, or I couldn't place any sell orders, or like in your case, my coins 'disappeared' after cancelling a buy or sell order. However, the coins always returned, assuming when the trade engine stopped shitting the fan. The longest it took for me was 11 hours.

So just relax, have a beer or smoke. Your coins will be returned. When they are, re-evaluate your relationship with Cryptsy, and maybe move to another exchange that doesn't constantly have problems.

I like your perspective. I did go out of my way to say "missing" instead of "lost". I just was a bit more concerned than usual because I haven't heard of this specific issue. Usually its more along the lines of missing deposits or whatever.

Just like gnode I can confirm my coins have eventually shown back up as well. Catastrophe averted.

Maybe you need to contact Big Ted or whatever his name is. Send him a tweet or 2.
btw I have no issues with Cryptsy at all since they updated their servers about a month ago.

Amazing how it's always the less than 30 day old 10 post newbies that post this FUD.

I have had literally thousands of trades among two dozen different coins involving several thousand BTC and I have had very few issues.

The very few I did have, were taken care of because I had the common sense to contact Cryptsy via their customer service on their site.

Maybe I am missing something, does Cryptsy Support forward to this forum?

BCX is Cryptsy's biggest fanboy. Cryptsy can do no wrong in his mind.

Yeah I can totally sense the love there. BCX I did use my "common sense" to raise a ticket via the support channel as soon as I noticed a problem. It does take a while to hear back from time to time including this particular case. I like Cryptsy too (clearly not to the same level as you) but I also like to reach out to the bitcoin community when my account goes down 90% in value to see if its a widespread thing. As it turns out this issue was widespread and they send out a bulk response a few hours later to say it was taken care of.

Yeah, Cryptsy is fairly buggy imo. I always get scared cancelling an order!
