B I S M U T H (BIS)
The first blockchain written in Python — fair-launched, no ICO, no premine, live since 1 May 2017.
Nine years on mainnet, built from scratch — and about to take its biggest leap yet.

⚡ hf2 — the biggest upgrade in Bismuth's history
One hard fork, bundling a decade of modernization:

Privacy — opt-in shielded transactions: stealth addresses, ring signatures, and confidential amounts (RingCT).
Smart contracts — a real on-chain RISC-V (RV32I) virtual machine, with a growing set of dApps.
Modernized PoW — blake2b Heavy3 replaces sha224 (dual-algo through the transition).
Lean serialization — native binary/integer transactions and blocks: smaller, faster, deterministic.
Coinbase overhaul — free-form fields, BTC-style coinbase maturity, and multi-scheme mining (RSA, ECDSA, ED25519, multisig, and post-quantum ML-DSA can all mine).

⛏ MINERS & POOLS — ACTION REQUIRED: hf2 switches the PoW to blake2b Heavy3. Old miners will produce invalid blocks after activation — update before the fork. Activation is miner-signalled: upgraded miners stamp "hf2" and the fork locks in once the network signals.

» Latest release: v4.6.0.2 « — node binaries for Windows / Linux / macOS

Nine years of firsts (2017–2026)
Bismuth shipped ideas years before the industry named them:

The first blockchain written in Python — from scratch, not a fork.
A semantic data / "meaning" layer — structured on-chain data from day one.
An early plugin ecosystem — tokens, aliases, NFTs, a DEX, naming, state channels.
On-chain sensor data — years before "DePIN" was a word.
A peer-reviewed PoW difficulty controller — published in Modeling, Identification and Control (2017–2018).

It's not syncing on windows as well for me:

ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 10: ''

And:

2017-05-01 22:03:11,644 digest_block(819) Check 1: A part of the block is invalid, rejected Difficulty requirement not satisfied for block 2 from 80.233.175.26
2017-05-01 22:03:11,645 digest_block(820) Check 1: Complete rejected block

Huh!?!
