Can someone tell me, why GPU mining is better then CPU mining?? It's so strangely, i think.

Buy a ASIC, it is much better..

Your answer was totally unresponsive, bordering on spam IMHO.

The answer is more like, well GPUs can process a lot faster than CPUs so they can calculate more hashes at a faster rate. I don't know about the mathematics about it though but it doesn't seem strange to me. You can tell the GPU to focus on one task while the CPU still has to run your computer and I believe it has to do with memory usage as well. That's why GPU isn't so great for scrypt mining.

There are so many factors.  But CPU mining is basically nothing right now.

GPU really really is dependent on so many things.  Electricity and heat being main two to me.  For me GPU was no longer profitable during because of summer.

Asics have a much better chance of profitability if you have decent electricity prices and place to put it.  If not hosting is the other option.  I suggest asic's over GPU.

stay away from btc mining, is a scam a run where who have the faster machine win and you need to re-buy a faster machine every 3 months

Please people, do not fees the trolls. If somebody asks this kind of question, that means they have not had patience the read first thing about crypto mining. I really do not understand why anyone would waste time explaining this.

Its always easier to ask then to find information themselves and thats what forum are for Smiley

Well in that case we should be telling every new user to buy BFL Monarchs.

Seriously, if the new users spent 3 hours reading the forums rather than asking how they could make 1 Bitcoin they would know this.

Apathy and laziness should not be encouraged on the forums.

GPUs can perform 'stupid' operations faster while consuming far less energy in the process. Graphics operations are - computational-wise - rather boring and simple operations. When they're configured to perform the mining algorithms, they outperform CPUs easily. But ASICs are even better. They're specifically designed to do those calculations and consume even less energy.
And the more specific the circuitry becomes, the faster it becomes obsolete and depreciates in value.

This! I read the forums for months before I had enough knowledge and nerve to ask my first question. And even then I still probably sounded like a dumbass.

But I just can't help myself, lol. There's just something about responding to these type of threads that I find deeply satisfying.

While the search function on this board might be frustrating to use, it does return result in most cases - you just need to do a little sifting.  There have been about 10 threads posted in this forum asking about electricity prices.  A simple search for 1 seconds would have yielded a thread with over 10 pages of responses.

So new people, please use the search.  If you searched and can't find a good answer then feel to ask but please make sure you don't ask questions like that posted in the OP.

As long as people are still trying to CPU or GPU mine these days, I'm not amazed by people buying BFL gear and don't receive jack. Due diligence is something that gets left behind immediately when people smell the scent of money!

it is pretty much asking which engine is better steam engine or Diesel engine - while you have access to nuclear power. If you want to really get into mining only word you need to know is "ASIC".

It's worthwhile reading around before you ask questions. The wiki is a good place to start.

Can someone tell me, why GPU mining is better then CPU mining??

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Why_a_GPU_mines_faster_than_a_CPU

There's even your exact question answered there.

Either way, ASICs mine 1000 times faster than GPUs as well, so both CPU and GPU mining are equally irrelevant in today's bitcoin mining.
