Suggestion: Transactionless blocks are redundant and encourage unneeded mining

Simple Solution: Force a requirement that at least 1 transaction must be in each block

Problems:
  • A- It may need to be if a transaction is in the last n blocks, where n is number of confirmations required, to ensure network quality of service
  • B- Miners can just create random transactions - this is a non issue once a move to fee only remuneration has been made

Conclusion: Transactionless blocks are not viable and any suggested implementation would be susceptible to problem B.
