I'm a little confused at what you're requesting. The number of people who are using/sending Bitcoin or users signing up/joining this forum community?

You can see some Bitcoin stats here: https://blockchain.info/stats
And there are some forum stats here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

It's probably not really possible to see how many new users are getting into Bitcoin directly, but you could look at the number of transactions etc.

You'll never be able to know how many actual users there are but you can find out how many transactions are taking place etc.

We don't know the exact users of bitcoin but I saw thread some where how many users In % own 10, 100, 1000 bitcoins and so on I think It was said that 60% of bitcoins are owned just by few 10's people  and all the major amount of users has very little amount of bitcoins but as I said I read that somewhere but don't really remember where so I can't guarantee that It's true statement.

It's really hard to even guess how big is the community, and how much growth there is. Forum account count is not a good indicator, not even activity. Maybe bitcoin transaction number, but no necessarily.

How can you say in % how much BTC users have certain amount of coins and how you cannot say how much exactly are the people who have coins. About the forum accounts..there is no way to say how much accounts some people have. I am sure there are a lot of scammers developing a lot of different accounts hoping to scam someone.

 0.001 BTC <= 0.1 BTC                910893
Its saying maybe 900 thousand accounts exist with 0.1 btc in them and so on.

It doesnt really work as so many people dont hold an account on the blockchain.  There are with places like gox for a proxy so we'll never know that easily.

Over a thousand people with 1000 btc, I dont believe that.   That'd be alot of millionaires, I think that is actually businesses and collections of people.    I think forum accounts is more accurate even with dead or fake ones
300k bitcoin users worldwide on a regular basis would be impressive enough

Both blockchain.info and coinbase announced some time ago that they have more than 1 million accounts.

But, more important, the most popular bitcoin wallet was already downloaded 5,4 million times.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/stats/timeline?dates=2008-11-09+to+2014-05-30

Many people downloaded it several times, other never installed it, but also many bitcoiners never downloaded the wallet and just used online ones.

I would say it's fair to consider that there are at least 1 million bitcoiners, possible as much as 2 million.

I think we can assume there are more than two, perhaps, even more than three.  Roll Eyes

My point being, we can not identify a precise number, but with the data that exists, we can project a minimal number with some confidence. 1 million is my minimal number, taking in account the 5 million downloads.

Since many people use multiple wallets, it's hard to know how many users there are.

At best, a very rough estimation can be made.

The total number of users is impossible to know, so the next best thing is to check for total activity. In other words the amount of bitcoin being moved between addresses on a given time interval. But even this has to be corrected a little because some of the transactions may be a single user moving between two of his own wallets.

This is true, however I read something on the forums that estimated the number of BTC users to be roughly 6 million

It's no use looking at the stats and trying to understand why, it's like looking at my thread and trying to understand why it has over 30,000 views, trust me, it's not worth the headache Tongue I think the only way you can genuinely tell if somebody real is on the other side is if you have stats where they're interacting with things for instance, downloads and sales are fairly reliable, sales more so, because that means someone real has put money down for a product etc.

There are too many factors like bots, VPN's, people using different computers, spammers etc. to be able to properly account for what's going on when it comes to view counts and such, registering for example can easily be spoofed by bots.

This site will not actually tell you how many people use bitcoin, but rather the details of BTC transactions and the network.
