Was the downtime a few minutes ago scheduled maintenance, a forum issue, or just me? I'm not at home at the moment so I can't tell if it was on my end or not (though other sites were fine).

Was fine for me. I think theymos normally posts if there's going to be scheduled downtime, but the forum does occasionaly briefly go down every now and again but perhaps that's suaully down to ddos attacks.

Alright, thanks; it wasn't that long (~5ish minutes for me, I think, though I wasn't watching the time), I was just wondering about it since there wasn't an announcement.

I also noticed what seemed to be it taking a long time to load threads on the forum but I didn't see that it actually went down.

I had some internet issues with private internet access around the time of the OP so it may have been with them.

I also noticed what seemed to be it taking a long time to load threads on the forum but I didn't see that it actually went down.

Same for me at first, but it appeared to go down completely for a short while after that, then was fine when it returned. Now that I think of it, this does seem a bit like a pointlessly short DDOS attack, but I can't be sure. Either way, I've had no issues since.

I had some internet issues with private internet access around the time of the OP so it may have been with them.

Does Private Internet Access host the forum, or just sponsor it in some other way? I don't personally use a VPN, and I only created the thread ~10 minutes after the downtime since I didn't see an announcement pop up.

I'm in the US, so whatever it was seems to have been mostly global.

I am in AUS and had my issues when you posted at 1.45pm EST. I was on the forums before, during and after that time.. didn't detect any hiccups.
You tried to access other sites to test right ??

Yes, other sites were fine. The only potential issue would have been the firewall where I was at, but it's never been a problem for regular web traffic (or Bitcointalk, for that matter), so I'd be surprised if it was the issue. In retrospect, I could have used Tor or isup.me to double-check, but the outage didn't last very long and I was busy at the time.

IF you want to check if a site is down for you or maybe for everyone else you may use this handy tool: http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

I would have, but I was busy at the time and by the time I thought of it the forum was already back up.
