Generally not hygienic. There may be newer anti-microbial handkerchiefs, but it sure ain't advertised. Cheesy Neither my grandparents nor great-grandparents carried them, and I sure never did. I thought it was ridiculous enough that my grandpa once gave me more than $10 to buy a wristwatch. Cheesy That was before all these ridiculous "smart watches," though.

Before I started taking shots for hay fever, I'd always have my pockets stuffed with kleenex if I was sound-minded enough to even remember them, so a good handkerchief would've been nice. OTOH, part of the reasons for all the kleenex was because I'd get really hardcore nose-bleeds every other day which a handkerchief would be useless for.

PitA to spell handkerchief, too -- what the Hell is that, Dutch?

Having a crusted rag full of snot in your pocket all day isnt too appealing these days...The younger generations would just rather shoot snot rockets.

I have never owned one, but ive seen older guys use their suit pocket squares as one before. Yuck

I think its just old and young people that carry them. I had one when I was a kid, but not since and I know plenty of old people that carry them.

Should carry one for emergency.

For instance, when the toilet run out of paper before you know it.

Used them when I was younger, but not anymore. However, I do usually carry paper tissues with me. They come in handy sometimes.

Why is that? What's the connection between Arizona and handkerchiefs?

I have one linen napkin that I have in my black jacket, and 2 silk ones for allergies. I'll take the less-used one outside if I'm having an attack, and a Loratadine if the attack includes sneezing.

Extremely low humidity?

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.
