I have a new android app that I'm testing out and need a few people who love new technology and apps.

I'm giving away 0.002717 BTC to the first 20 people who signup and use the app to create a new Ledge (Network) for their area.  I'm giving away 0.008717 BTC to anyone who is able to get a friend in their home city to use the app with them and interact a little.

LocalLedge is a geo location based chat app that allows people to instantly create their own social network about anything they want. You can create both private, public and protected chat groups that only work on the local level (20ft to 20 miles).  It's a fun app that can be used for millions of different things. See localledge.com for more info.

I've spent a year developing the app and finally at the stage where I need to get a few more users on-board to help beta test it.  The payout is small but it's just a kind of thank you.  Beta apps are not for normal users.  They are for people who love new tech toys and apps.

How to get paid out

Step 1.  Join the Google Plus Community https://plus.google.com/communities/104649030195462412878
Step 2.  Wait for approval.  Unfortunately I have to manually approve people.  Stupid but the way Google does the beta testing
Step 3.  After approval download the app via the link on the Google Plus community page.
Step 4. Register as a new user and create a Ledge for your area. You can create new Ledges under the MyLedge tab of the app.  Just hit the + sign.  It's a really simple interface.
Step 5.  Come back here and post your user name.  I can verify you created a ledge and get you paid out.  I will need your wallet to pay of course.

What I get out of it.

Data.  This app is still in beta so I need to ensure it's not crashing on people.  I have some tools installed in the app that give me analytic on how the app is being used.  This data helps me find bugs to fix before I officially launch the app.

For the higher payout I'm really only looking for a small group or two who basically want their own private chat app.  No body in your area is going to be using it for now but you so it can be a cool thing for those Uber geeks amongst us.

The payout will end once 20 people signup or after a week.  Which ever comes first.

Is it compatible with WiFI only devices?

Saying that you don't trust someone because of their behavior is completely valid.

The app may not fully function as it should with Wifi only devices.  The app is geo location based. If it is unable to get a geo location from your device it will not yield results.

How are chat messages transmitted?

Are they transmitted over your servers, or locally?

If it is transmitted over your servers, what zero knowledge encryption do you use? Do you support fingerprint verification, forward secrecy? What makes your app better than ChatSecure?

The Bitcoin community is not going to use an app that isn't encrypted.

Great questions.  The beta is not meant for general use but for testing something new and fun.  It is not for everyone.  It offers ZERO encryption and uses parse as the backend. Chatsecure is an app based upon who you already know and offers connections world wide.  LocalLedge is meant to work on the local level only.  It's not so much about who you already know but chating with others who want to chat about the same topics.

The chat should be thought of more like the forum of bitcointalk and not something where you are communicating in secret with someone you already know.
