Karma is the nature of god within a dualistic universe.  It is the essence of nature, interdependant with the environment around it.

Every action has a reaction whether you understand karma or not.  If you believe on Newton's third law, you believe in karma.

What horrible things did you do to end up homeless then?
You must have killed some1!

Is being homeless a 'bad' thing?

actually if you really research karma you get to see that doing good actually creates the opposite effect

karma is to balance things, so all good deeds cannot be balanced with good karma, it would actually create negative results

the whole buddhist doctrine of 'karma' is neutrality, to balance, walk the line between concepts of good/evil

now if you believe in doing a ton of good now to say balance old negative karma from past lives, okay, maybe do good

but if you want good karma 'now' then one would actually do all the 'bad' they could to swing the good karmic scales your way

so the whole concept of karma is misunderstood

as bruce lee said, be like water, it hits an obstacle it flows around it

look at one of his last interviews, if not his last, he was asked do you believe in GOD?

he said, I believe in SLEEP

So what happened, HE WAS PUT TO SLEEP

just look at all the historic do gooders

so yeah do all the 'good' you want and when negative results keep coming you way maybe you will learn to walk the neutral line and try to create the least ripples you can

my neighbor was just talking to me about paying it forward. he believes if you help others good things happen for you and if you do bad it comes back to you.

If you see the movie or read the book "The secret"... its all about the law of atraction. If people think life will be nice with they because they do good things, it will happen. But at last karma is not %100 true because there is a lot of bad people with good life out there.

i think its pretty real, since I had helped someone recently. And in return I didnt notice it, but got helped by a random stranger at starbucks when I needed it.

It can indeed. I know a few people who got everything they deserved and them some for being shitty people to others.
