why hard to believe ?
maybe someone who mined with strong computers since 2009 ?

Wow that's big money if i were them i should have moved it in chunks but sure they must have their reason or this is a piece for them.
Maybe the just wanted to settle a new record.
I think, the biggest transaction so far was 100,000 BTC, but that was when BTC-price was much lower.

No you're wrong  , check this  TX:

https://blockchain.info/it/tx/29a3efd3ef04f9153d47a990bd7b048a4b2d213daaa5fb8ed670fb85f13bdbcf

That was a couple of years ago so it wasn't worth so much, this was quite large.

That one must have been gox or btcst
Its hard to imagine one  individual with 550,000 btc tbh

not hashing, folding and curing (check FLDC merged-folding! reuse good GPUs)

I traced it down, it does lead to mtgox. But as a deposit...

Strange because i picked this up 8 days after the OP
https://blockchain.info/tx/9d25b5eaa65de602fe6a11ba9db83f3b1105899b12664f3302a5ccf1cff955d8
Chech the dates and addreses on both the transactions.
Is this some sort of market manipulation going on?

So, they sent 5000 BTC somewhere else. How is that market manipulation?
That seems like a nice little address, they use for big transactions

I think this is where Bitcoin shines. It's nearly feeless when it comes to huge transactions, but for small ones, you do pay high TX fees.

Ye it dosen't make sense to me but well Grin
I already saw  a 550,000 BTC Transaction with 0 BTC fee Shocked

That's probably the same bunch of  coins being moved about between wallets etc or in and out of coldstorage
There can't be so many people/group's with  around half a million coins

It is probably some company/entity that holds/owns bitcoin on behalf of others (like an exchange). It was/is actually rumored that the transaction had something to do with an audit of bitstamp
