Heya,

I'm thinking its about time for another Bitcoin meetup in San Francisco. I've be here a couple of months but I've either missed all the meetups or there just haven't been one for a while.  Seems strange as my feeling is bitcoin is getting stronger every day. Hence it's high time we meetup!

I've added a meetup event -> http://www.meetup.com/San-Francisco-Bitcoin-Social/events/70056992/

Please register to get it approved. I have added a bunch of suggested topics, but I'm really just interested to know who's in San Francisco, what are people working on, and maybe giving a talk myself. I've suggested StartupHQ as the venue as I work out of there.

Details
Where: StartupHQ, 185 Clara St, San Francisco
When: Thursday June 28

Suggested topics
- What are current pain points of using bitcoin?
- What APIs/libraries are out there? What is recommended?
- What are people working? Who needs help?
- Securing your bitcoins (personal use)
- Securing your website/app

Semi-bitcoin related topics
- Global politics - Eurozone + US economy - what will be the effect on bitcoin?

StartupHQ looks fantastic!

I'm not working on any Bitcoin projects right now but I'm only a few blocks away so I'll come say hi!

Great meetup. Got to meet a bunch of enthusiastic and well connected bitcoiners. Lots of interesting stuff going on in San Francisco. We were about 15-20 people, and unfortunately I didn't get to talk enough with all of you. Until next time.

Great meetup last night, thanks to everyone who came. I think I quadrupled the people I've met in person who are into bitcoin.

Anyways, I've put my agenda + (very) rough notes up on GitHub. Note it has the talk that I didn't end up doing.
https://github.com/matholroyd/bitcoin-social-sf/blob/master/2012-06-28/agenda.markdown.

Also, I put a twitter list together of the people I could find. Can't add myself to the list though! @matholroyd

Next meetup
Well since last night went pretty well, how about thinking about the next one. I think I'm leaving SF on 25 July (for about ~1 month) .

Hence was thinking 19th of July. Same place, StartupHQ.

I'll endeavour to take better notes next time. Also, I'll organize a projector (that works) so people can do proper presentations.

Cheers,
~Mat
