Not sure if the account was hacked or not, but if it was, then maybe it would have asked or tried to scam a larger amount, or would have sold the account for a larger account. Only at the end of the day will we know.

Yeah thatwould be good, but if a dispute does arise, then the PM can also be used as proof.

Good luck getting the BTC back. Guy is shady as fuck and I would recommend staying away even if he does pay back. He tried to sell me a 1oz gold bar awhile back, told me he it was purchased from a local pawn shop and had it tested there. With so many fake bars going around, I declined and find out this later: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=664807.msg8443112#msg8443112 and "My customer had it tested (as I should have done), and it was quickly discovered that they were fake.".
