Linking to your public address is safe.  Just don't put your private key or anything such as that.

The problem with double spends may occur when user upgrades to Bitcoin Core v0.10 and used low fees for previous transactions (custom made). After upgrading transaction is marked as conflicted and inputs are unlocked for that transaction to be spent again. This is good because that allows You to fix Your long waiting unconfirmed transaction.

Since this version not so long ago appeared officially, most likely this problem may be seen often for some time. And yes, there is a way to abuse it easier now in new client, so it may actually occur more often from now on...

I accidentally made double spend myself too and I'm not too happy about that because now I need to refund old TX to member. Sad

Most common reason for double spends showing up at blockchain is you are mining at a pool. As soon as the pool gets an orphan block, blockchain falsely tags the pool's generation address as double spending. It's a mistake at blockchain.info and they should fix it.
