Hi,

Ok, I'm sure this has been answered somewhere, but I haven't found it.

I have funds in my WinQT wallet and wish to move them to my Android wallet (or vice versa). My question is; How do I transfer between devices without paying a transaction fee?
I don't want to store a bunch on my phone or tablet and yet I don't see why I pay a fee to move coins between my Windows wallet and the Android (or vice versa).
That's like saying I have to pay a dime because I want to take a dollar from my wallet and put it in my pocket.

I'm sure there is an easy way to do it and this must be a stupid question. But....Please explain how to accomplish such?

Thank You very much for your answers.

Its the safer way. If you dont want a large amount on your mobil, dont send large amounts there.

I'm sure there is an easy way to do it and this must be a stupid question. But....Please explain how to accomplish such?

There is no easy way. If you dont want to spend fees you either have to create a transaction without fee or move the prive keys. Creating a transaction without fee is not possible on all wallets, because your transaction might not actually get confirmed for a few days, weeks or even months, unless you ask for help and pay twice the fee you would needed to pay in the first place[1]. The alternative is to export the private key from one wallet into another wallet and that is not easy. For all I know the Schildbach App (assuming thats the android wallet you are using) does not even allow you to export your private keys.

Your best bet is to export and then import the private keys into the other wallet if the app allows it.  However that process will give the new wallet access to all of the coins of the address you imported.

If you just want to transfer some coins then you send them to yourself.  I'm sorry you don't like the transaction fees but that's how the process works.  Bitcoin has no knowledge that the addresses in the Windows wallet and the addresses in the android wallet are owned by you, so your analogy of paying a dime to take money from your wallet to put it in your pocket is invalid.

This is your best bet although I'm personally have not used a phone wallet advanced enough to import private key.  If your dealing with much bitcoins I'm not sure moving to a phone wallet is a good move security wise.

Easiest would be just pay the fee and send it to new address.  You will have to pay it once, and it will all be sent to your new address.   If you have to have it all on phone wallet I would do this because of it being easy.
