I took a look at some Bitcoin network charts on Blockchain.info. There are some strange peaks in the chart of total transactions fees which I can not explain myself -> https://blockchain.info/en/charts/transaction-fees

What is the background about those peaks? Were there made huge transactions which caused high transactions fees?

the last one was a script bug -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1038484.0
The ~85 BTC was returned and the person got a 25 BTC bug bounty on top.

They are usually mistakes.
Im not really here, its just your imagination.
