I too was stolen from by BTC-E.  I tried BTC-E for two days and then requested a refund since they advertise a full refund within 60 days.  BTC-E uses Clickbetter as their payment service.  After asking for a refund two days after purchasing service with Clickbetter, I too have had trouble with Clickbetter.  In several email responses to get them to refund my BTC, they have stated that refunds can take between 2 and 21 days, "due to international banking limitations".  This is total BS.  A complete lie.   I funded my BTC-E account with $100 USD paid in BTC.  Bitcoin requires no bank and their "reasoning" related to the "international banking" (lie) is insulting.  They just need to refund my BTC.  It DOES NOT take 21 days.  It takes two seconds if they will just do it. Anything less than an immediate refund is theft.   It has been 10 days now and I feel taken advantage of and stolen from just like many others who have been scammed by BTC-E and by extension, the sham of a company called Clickbetter.

did you asked support to clickbetter too? maybe they need their approval too, it sound strange that for a bitcoin refund(you sure they think is a bitcoin refund and not fiat refund) you need to wait so much

Come on it is hardly a scam when I have held 100x what you have apparently been stolen from, have to add I am small fish because there are people with 1000x what I have had on there and very rarely see the troll box crying over stolen funds. The problem is you believe they would care about stealing your $100 and no doubt was rude to them in chat and constantly on their case lol Your funds will be returned just chill out .

So they are doing what they said they would do in the TOS or whatever right?  Ok so maybe it is a long time to refund money, but calling them scamers is a bit much.  They are doing exactly what they said they would do when you signed up with them.  You should read that stuff instead of just clicking on it.  You never know when you will end up as part of a human centipede or something.

Soooooo - It has now been well over 21 days and this sham of a dishonest company has responded to my new query today with the same old lie stating that they have already issued the refund and to be patient.  What a crock of shit.  I warn everyone who is thinking about participating in the BTC-E Scam that this company is DISHONEST!  Do not give them any of your BTC, as you will not likely ever see any of it back in the event that you attempt to take them up on their sham of a refund. Telling customers for a month that they have been issued a refund and to be patient while never issuing any refund is thievery.  No company I know that lies to their customers like this will ever remain in business.  Steer clear of them!

There are numerous BTC-E complaints in this forum and I'm sorry they got you, but just a little bit of research would save people a lot of heartache.

Do you think more than any other exchange though? maybe, it does seem like a few people are complaining but then its hard to know what to trust.  For me personally i dont really deal that much with any exchange anymore, i do still have some funds in BTC-e and Bitfinex though.

There is another thread of member claiming to be scammed by btc-e, but don't know if it's legit tho - another relatively new account https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1089384.0
Regardless of legitimacy of claims, noone should trust an exchange whose location and owner are hidden. Been using the site for years w/o a single issue, but still, such stories freak me out.

cheers
