Since roads are public owned while having to pay for a space (on it) to a private individual or company? Also...since private individuals are profiteering from a public goods they should compensate the public for the loss.

It is not "decentralized" parking. I wonder why they didn't throw "cloud computing" in there, too.

I think this is just genius, but... if I auction a parking spot, how do I know nobody will take it between the time I leave and the winning bidder arrives? It would also create a huge bid war... I could easily see parking spots reaching 2 or 3 Bitcoins at current BTC/USD rates! If we can solve the 1st problem, the system is totally usable, at least during the day.
