CANTV, Venezuela’s state-owned and largest Internet service provider, has blocked, as of this morning, many Bitcoin-related domain names, websites and mining pools, according to Redditor rdymac.

Wasn't that the country with the ultra high inflation? Guess it could be seen as a honour to bitcoin when the government sees bitcoin as a threat and tries to block it. Cheesy

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

According to Coindesk it is a DNS server issue, not a government blockage: http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-websites-experience-service-outage-in-venezuela/

Was the DNS server issue restricted to bitcoin websites? That seems to be fishy.
The positives from this are that the government will know the negative reaction that they will face in case they try to block bitcoin-related sites.
