I have no idea who is behind bribing The Merkle and Coinfire, but I am well sure somebody is. Because of what happens on Reddit, it looks like an IRC-coordinated job by a competitive exchange who cannot afford to have 0% trading fees. It might also be an inside job, because fees only apply on withdrawals, but I find that highly unlikely.

I have used Cryptsy and withdrawn a substantial amount of coins recently just to be sure. But those claims like "Cryptsy changed my password so I cannot log in" inside those articles. I mean what the fuck. You would have to be beyond braindead to eat that bait.

It doesn't matter how much they lie? Throw a lot of shit and some of it will stick? These partisan political tactics these people actually use to bash an exchange which has survived most of them?

I like cryptsy for being the 1st cryptocurrency exchange to have 0% trading fee but too much fud has driven many people away from using this exchange.
0% trading fee is a good move as people will start trading and not withdraw from the exchange easily.

Cryptsy seems to have the most technically incompetent staff of all the major exchanges and their customer service is below par too. Latest stories may well be fud, but it's still outclassed by exchanges like Poloniex.

What exchange CAN afford to have 0% trading fees? How do they make money?

Cryptsy charges .5% fees on withdrawals, that means a $100 grand withdrawal nets them a whopping 500 dollars and how often is that on such low volume?

I honestly don't know how they stay in business in the first place.

I thought they charged 1% on withdrawals?

https://www.cryptsy.com/pages/fees

Quote
"Cryptsy charges a base fee which is typically aligned with the network fee imposed by each coin + 0.5%."

Maybe this "base fee" added to .5% makes 1%.

Even still though with the volume it does, I just can't imagine that adds up to too much money.

I don't know what's the problem with Cryptsy but everytime I tried to withdraw I haven't had any problems... Yeah ok, if you send some coins you will need to wait a lot of time for them to be available on Cryptsy. It´s a very slow ptocess, other than that, can't say I had issues with them.

FUD ? They were hacked like 10 million times ! But wait they are still honest !!! YES INDEED !!!

I had and have lots of coins at Cryptsy since 2013 and never have lost even 1.

Mintpal was hacked,
https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/mintpal-gets-hacked-pos-vericoin-fork-result/

Poloniex was hacked
http://arstechnica.com/security/2014/03/yet-another-exchange-hacked-poloniex-loses-around-50000-in-bitcoin/
http://www.esecurityplanet.com/network-security/bitcoin-exchange-poloniex-hacked.html

Bter was hacked
http://cointelegraph.com/news/112278/breaking-bter-hacked-50m-nxt-stolen
http://cointelegraph.com/news/113494/bter-gets-hacked-for-175-million-in-bitcoin

Cryptorush, coinex, coinmarket, mintpal and "10 million altcoin exchanges" were opened in 2014, and they disappeared in 2014.

If Cryptsy was hacked, could you please provide any proof?

I only remember a failed attack against RDD and an exploit in LGD.

User of cryptsy here, never had an issue with withdraws either.

HOWEVER, you are giving someone full control over your keys.  Accept you are no longer the true owner of these coins.  One should always have coins they are the only controller of the private keys for them.

28. Staking Interest

Some Cryptsy wallets may provide staking interest rewards. Any staking rewards, conversions, snapshots, or likewise will become the property of Cryptsy.

Never got the big deal about this, if you're not going to support the network by withdrawing and staking then why shouldn't they get paid for doing it?

the only hack i posted about was maybe considered more of an "exploit"
What happened is i went over there and noticed a lot of people talking about some hacking incident (i missed it by a day or less)
And they were all talking about it because these guys on the chat box were pissed right off that their recent trades were rolled back.
(roll back mentioned on Cryptsy Twitter too)
Some guy had found a way to buy up all the "POINTS" market tokens/coins so that in turn drove the price into the dirt..
So this caused a panic.. people told me on chat they were dumping any coins they had asap to buy up the crazy mega cheap Points.
Then.. a day or so later i seen some guy on chat making hints that he did it.
So i was poking him for info and trying to get him to admit it and he said he made off with some huge amount of BTC.
The guy on the chat box was asking what he should spend his $150,000 on (i can't recall the exact $ amount he said sorry guys)
I will point out the hacker never said explicitly he got the coins off the servers but implied it heavily.
Later when i brought it up here on the forum BitJohn claimed the guy never got ANY Bitcoin off their servers.
Did he get away with a ton of money ? I have no way of knowing for sure either way (it's a hackers word vs BitJohn's)
And BitJohn has lied to me on a number of occasions so i dunno LOL

So other than that incident i myself do not know of any other hack incidents.
You would have to ask other guys about that..

I also pledge that the above info is as accurate and honest as i can possibly be.
Sometimes your evil FUD is actually ..just the truth  Roll Eyes
