I think this is the right place, not sure though. Sorry if it's not.

A few weeks or so ago I sold £35 BTC to 'roni80' for £35 WU. When I went to WU they said they have not received the payment from him yet. A day after we talked a bit and he said he then went to the bank to confirm the payment was made by him. I have not went back to WU again yet because the bus fair is expensive. I have tried to contact him and asked him if he could check his bank online to see if the payment came out and he has not replied. Then I come back to this forum to find out he's most likely a multi and a scammer.

Yesterday I turned £15 into £80 and sold it on Localbitcoins today with no hassle. I guess I learned my lesson.

Lesson learnt: Always use escrow when dealing with Newbie.
Take it as learning curve & move on. You're not getting your part of the deal for sure.

You can check the payment status very easy you not need to going to any western union counter for that.
Simply by going to the westernunion website and check if the money is ready for pickup or not.Did you got any refference number called MTCN?

For future information check out this https://www.westernunion.com/us/en/what-is-mtcn.html

Yes, I tracked the number and it said it was ready to pick up. So I went to WU and they said the payment was not confirmed so I couldn't actually pick it up.

NEVER send first or release escrow before getting cash in hand. WU payments can be canceled and are often put on hold if anything even looks suspicious, which is what may have happened to you.

I also recommend only dealing with others who are sending cash, not sending money online using their card or bank account.
