I have a GPU and I am wondering on what mining Pool should I connect to mine Bitcoins. I am also thinking of doing solo mining but my friends told me its hard to earn that way. Can anyone tell me what is the best mining Pool online for BTC.

Also note there are some stupid pools that support CPU and GPU mining of Bitcoins.
I've no idea why they would do anything so stupid.
They should point out to their miners how badly they are wasting their money and suggest they either go spend $10 on BTC or buy a small cheap ASIC USB to play with mining.

If you spent $10 buying BTC at the moment, you'd have roughly the same BTC as if you mined with about 40 700MHs GPUs for an entire year.
Yeah basically wasting a lot of money (electricity and computers/GPUs that some will die doing that) and effort (a year) to get the same as just spending $10 on BTC now.

On the CPU side, you'd need to run about 930 good computers for a year to make about the same BTC as spending $10 now ...

Edit: Oh, I left the halving out of the calculations ... so it's even worse: double the number of GPUs or CPUs ...

Heck even the Antminer S3+ are not even profitable anymore, let alone the S5. It's a shame ASICs came out, honestly.

I used BitcoinAffiliateNetwork in the beginning then silenced with BitMinter.

BTCGuild was he best til they closed.
