I have a transaction that hasn't been confirmed for 7 days. Trying to figure this out. Thank you for the tip.

I have the same problem, I have 0 connections to the Bitcoin Network, this is what it says at the bottom right. Have you downloaded the blockchain previously? I never made it that far

I had block chain fully downloaded. I was told to download it again. I did, still no luck. My latest advice was rescan. Trying to figure that out.

I did that in debug console. I'm guessing that's not where I do that. Where does that command go?

When you run the client, you run 'bitcoin-qt' (it may be in a shorcut in windows) Replace that by 'bitcoin-qt -rescan'

Assuming you mean WINDOWS 7 you: 1) Create a shortcut for bitcoin-qt on your desktop. 2) Right-click the shortcut and select properties. 3) In the field labeled Target type -rescan on the end.
P.S. default is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" so the target field would end up looking like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" -rescan.

If you have a transaction that you are expecting that hasn't confirmed in that long, you should look it up on blockchain.info and see if it is actually confirmed, pending, or doesn't exist at all. Bitcoin transactions don't take that long if they have any chance of going through. A "confirmation" is a transaction being included in the blockchain, it doesn't have anything to do with your client software. My car won't start. How do I rotate the tires?

If it doesn't show up in blockchain.info you should delete it from your wallet (see pywallet.tk)
