On Feb 26th I placed an order with Dell.com and selected Bitcoin for the payment option. When I hit the button to place the order, I was told the transaction could not be processed, but my Coinbase account  had shown that it had sent the Bitcoin. The following morning i received an email from Dell.com saying that they had received my payment , and asked for the order details. I provided the details, and asked them to create the order. I waited another day, and still no order had been created. I tried calling customer support, and not a single person could offer me any help. after two hours, not only was I not ever transferred to anybody who could speak proper English, but not a single person was able to offer any help what so ever. On March 4th, 5 days later, I finally received assistance from Coinbase, I received an email from Dell.com saying that they were going to send me a refund check. Now Bitcoin had gone upp $100 dollars by this point, so it was obvious what they were trying to pull. I responded saying that i wanted my refund to be sent in Bitcoin. The next day I finally received an email saying that a Bitcoin refund had been initiated, and that i would not receive my Bitcoin for another 5 business days. So this entire ordeal will have ended up tying my Bitcoin up for 2 weeks. I would not advise ever doing business with Dell,  and would not use Coinbase to process any purchases made online.

Is it? Did you know that many - esp. large - companies do not receive bitcoin at all, but just get USD/EUR/etc. via the payment processor (e.g. coinbase)?

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

Do you really think that companies like DELL and Microsoft receive the "bitcoins" themselves?

They just receive direct fiat $$$ through panels like Bitpay (in case of microsoft.)

Might be a glitch though or a internal error.

Thats the early pains of a new technology such as bitcoin.  We all pay our fair share of stories like this.  Hope this ends up not hurting too much but its things like this that i hope get mitigated soon otherwise companies will see btc payments as a pita and not "worth it" to them.
