My reasons:

Most important reason is that soon user friendly evolution  will be released.

With Dash it will be easy, non technical people will understand without any overwhelming backups and private keys, easy like paypal.

Evolution’s mission is to make digital cash easy to use and access for all users, even those who aren’t technologically savvy. Anybody will be able setup an account on the blockchain, add contacts and pay them by name. Purchases from websites or mobile apps will be simple, requiring only a single click.

Evolution will introduce a new type of light wallet which will have SPV security and browser compatibility. This wallet will connect directly to  P2P network of over 4,000 nodes.

In Evolution, you will be able to connect directly with merchants to make purchases or even setup auto debits to pay for subscription services. Every merchant that integrates Dash will be searchable on the blockchain, and you will be able to rate purchases so the community can decide which vendors are providing quality products and services.

MERCHANT FRIENDLY

Add Dash payments to your site or mobile app in minutes using a simple, decentralized API. Forget about complex infrastructure or relying on third parties to handle your customer’s payments and build direct relationships with your customers using the blockchain.

Other reasons

Instant transactions
Private transactions

Even Nodes earn 45%, miners 45%
10% goes to Dash development, marketing.
Very organized project, new features implemented by voting.

When i look at the Dash, i think, daaamn, these guys are doing best they can.

Even if t's instamine it would mean nothing for Dash, people already understanding it and price will continue to grow.

I wish i could say i was drawn to Dash because of this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kmb8bo-n55A
but that would be difficult as that video was made in 2016 and i got into Dash end 2014 (at the top of its very first and very large peak).  Wink

At the time i was looking for altcoins to mine with my GPU and i looked at several altcoins before arriving at Dash.
Even at that time it became difficult to mine Dash as there were large GPU farms operational already and also the idea of having my computer
constantly on with 100% workloads on the GPU started to worry me.

In that period the masternode concept was still in its infancy, but i got drawn into it and saw the potential there as the original payment schedule
had masternode payments go up to 60% of the blockreward and that certainly got my attention.

I even made a thread about it on 17th of november 2014 :

Dash's Masternodes, what are they ? how many are there ? why should i care?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=860067.0

Later on Evan Duffield, lead developer of Dash introduced us to the concept of having a decentralized budget paid directly from the blockchain, splitting the blockreward into
the 45% Miners / 45% Masternodes / 10% Budget. This was really a brilliant move as it gave Dash independence of budget, Dash could now focus on developing and attracting the
the tools and services which it needed for expansion. With the budget coming straight from the blockreward, the masternode owners also got the important task of governing that budget
by voting over those budget proposals.

The primary reason though for investing in Dash was the feeling i could trust this dev-team and its lead developer, who gave up so much of their own anonymity while working on a privacy-focussed
cryptocurrency (Dash grew to be much more then that of course but end 2014, it was really just focussing on privacy). I got to know the dev-team by participathing on Testnet and saw first hand
the drive these guys all have .. the drive to really make Dash mainstream usable digital cash.

Learn from the past, set detailed and vivid goals for the future and live in the only moment of time over which you have any control : now

Sad you will being using bitcoins and spend 100 on transaction fees and probably wait in days because of the blocks are full. while everyone else is using evolution and having instant transaction. You could of bought DASH for like .34 cent at one point or even lower so how is the instamine an issue? A technical glitch and DASH was for sale for pennies and still it's a scam coin..lol

Bitcoinica still has not given me 50% of my claim of 600 BTC
INTERSANGO can go down with bitcoinica for abandoning customers

I started looking into cryptocurrencies in February 2015 when I saw that one of my regular websites accepted them through Litepay as an alternative to Paypal.  I knew Bitcoin was the grandaddy but until that point I knew nothing about it nor did I know that there were alternative coins.  I spent days reading about the merits of every coin I could find, visiting their websites and looking into what they were all about.  Dash caught my attention immediately more than any other.  Initially that was because of the privacy aspect, but the more I read the more Dash appealed.  It had a clear vision, a lively, friendly community and it was the only coin that seemed to have identified the problems facing Bitcoin and had taken measures to resolve them.  In other words, Dash had clearly got its shit together.  I bought my first coins two years ago and have been accumulating ever since.  I can't help but get excited whenever I see a new update or a new piece of the roadmap and I'm so glad that I picked Dash out all the way back then  Smiley

I have nothing personal against Dash, but I feel like this thread is a total waste of space. The OP is asking for reasons why people have invested in dash. Nothing wrong with this, but he then goes on to list all the advantages of dash, like the evolution update, which clearly shows that this is just an attempt to pump up the price for Dash holders. Shame really, not exactly a boost to dash's reputation.
