Will price of some Altcoins exceed 1000$ this year?

Probably not, Bitcoin itself is teetering on the 1K area and its leaps ahead of altcoins. Demand to would have to surge astronomically for the particular altcoin to a degree that just isnt possible in 9 months time.

i think there is no way for altcoin to reach that price.

for now, altcoins prices is depend on bitcoin. we can see at all exchangers, when bitcoin price goes down, altcoins price goes up. and when bitcoin price goes down, some alts price goes down.
if you want some altcoins price to be $1000, you must wait till bitcoin vanish from this world.

dont see any going to $1000, BTC after all these years of ups and down just made it.. For altcoins a target of $100 per coin by year end is an achievement... dash/zcash/eth

Dash did $100 recently, that means to hit $1000 it needs another 10X move, I don't think any Whales will gamble on that, remember the number of years i took Bitcoin to return to $1000 price range. I don't see $1000 Altcoins this year but we might see more tokens moving to $100 price range

even if yes it wouldnt be sustainable, this massive pumps only crash few days later, look what happened yesterday with xbc . its better to really look what the people think of the coin. is the dev activ and trustworthy etc

the only coin that could ever go to ridiculously high prices was ZCash and we all saw what happened to it, it couldn't even keep the price up long enough. there was a big manipulation and people fell for the 6BTC price and invested and got dumped on.

no altcoin can go high at the present because they can never summon enough demand and whales only have so much money to pump these coins to a certain level, above that they will start losing money.

There was already a coin that exceeded the $1000 mark . It was on yobit and it is now down to 1 sat  the name was YES if i remember correctly .

also someone said BTC is an alt hmm let me say it loud and clear BTC is the backbone that holding the whole cryptocurrency world .

If btc get destroyed or fall like some is trying to do now GL trying to convince the world that crypto currency can be real currency ( no one from outside will give a second look into crypto currency anymore ) .

This year? I think its unlikely but not impossible.

If there is a coin to do it this year my money would be on Dash doing it.

You have to remember Dash has a lot more money than even Bitcoin to spend on marketing and whatnot.

I hope within a couple of years Decred will get there, but they have a little more work to do between now and then.

I don't believe so. Many altcoins don't have a limit on the number of coins created, what naturally makes them lose value over time. They will gain more value in direct relation to its popularity, but no enough to drive the price up to $1000, at least this year.
As an example, there is ~91 million ETH. If it reaches $1000 each, the sum would be $91B, wich is 6x BTC current market cap. It is an unlikely scenario.

It is because the $1000 is the price of the bitcoin that exists in the internet market since 2008 , And rest of the other coins and altcoins cames in the market after the bitcoin .

bitcoin was the very first coin - there was no competition for awhile. so many alt's have built upon the bitcoin concept and have made some incredible things; many i feel are in theory better than bitcoin. i think it's possible eventually.

use the analogy of social media. no one thought facebook would become huge, because there was already myspace and friendster. look what happened.

No way any altcoin will reach $1000 anytime this year or next year. Even $100 altcoin is already ridiculous considering that none of them has as much usage as bitcoin.
I only saw Zcash worth more than $1000 at a point of time because the supply was truely limited and very little of the coins were mined. Other than that, there is no chance to see this happening.
