But I don't think this year we will see it will take few more year maybe in 2020 we will see this. When crypto will go mainstream after Govt. officially adopt the blockchain for their projects.

It is because the $1000 is the price of the bitcoin that exists in the internet market since 2008 , And rest of the other coins and altcoins cames in the market after the bitcoin .
So how can we say that another altcoins that entered in the Bitcoin market after the bitcoin will became more powerful than bitcoin .
This may be your simple thinking , and here don't forget that the fall in the price of the bitcoin and rise may be any time with high jump and same thing may happen in the altcoins .
So here the king will remain only Bitcoin .

This year is just at beginning so in remaining more than 9 months anything can happen. All depends on the price of Bitcoin if that market really explodes and take to Bitcoin at 10,000 $ then some of the altcoins can easily reach at 1000 $. Everything seems hard until it is achieved.

In my opinion, even BTC is a alt coin. So the question would be , what will be the next $1k worth altcoin after BTC. I think we will not see anyother altcoin that can reach into 1000 USD in this decade. Again, No one knows the future. But I think BTC was unique and will be the extreme one

Not possible this year maybe in the next five years when government are well aware of bitcoin and crypto currency and they make it a part of their transactions,maybe by that time bitcoin is worth $10000 or more but I'm hoping this will happen in the future.

There was already a coin that exceeded the $1000 mark . It was on yobit and it is now down to 1 sat  the name was YES if i remember correctly .

also someone said BTC is an alt hmm let me say it loud and clear BTC is the backbone that holding the whole cryptocurrency world .

If btc get destroyed or fall like some is trying to do now GL trying to convince the world that crypto currency can be real currency ( no one from outside will give a second look into crypto currency anymore ) .

Very highly unlikley. Recent alt pump was becasue of BTC stagnation and fear of Hardfork. Now BTC going up again and alts are down.

demand to buy is low, so zcash price is down price
i think if altcoin price 1000 dollar, very dificult is find buyer and user

I see from some altcoin maybe this year some have reached $ 1,000, but it was only visible for a while and did not last long for it, because if we look at the price of BTC is currently weak than ever, looks alcoin higher selling price of her, perhaps it just a while because I'm sure if the BTC price will be high, the price for it will weaken altcoin below.

I dont think any currency has got anywhere near the value of bitcoin . !maybe when bitcoin. Is worth $10000 + we might see some coins worth $1000. Not right now though . The most I can think of is monero and it is about 1/70of the value of bitcoin.  Other then thst I do not know.

But please note, the price of a coin is also related to the amount of coins in circulation. I think no coin with supply over 1,000,000 units can hit the target in the next 12 months. That would require $1B of marketcap, which is not an easy target.

To compare, Dash circulating coins are 7.2M ("rare coin") and price is ~$90 per unit (marketcap $650M).

As some altcoins are not only dependent on demand and offer but are also regulated in a way by different campaigns, it is quite possible for some coin to reach a 'false' $1k. And I think that in about 5 years a couple of the best altcoins may reach the real $1000 price. I bet on Ethereum and Bytebal but who knows what the future will bring us. What can suddenly change the price of alts (but not THAT much that they reach $1000) is bitcoin suffering from a hard fork (if that will ever happen).

Maybe it will if those huge traders will manipulate everyone to buy a specific coin. Surely, this will make an altcoin sykrocket to a $1000. For me, it very possible and it can happen because more and more people are joining into trading cryptocurrency.
