i cant seem to set my gridseed up at all

i am very new to mining and i have just got a gridseed miner and i did try to set it up with bfgminer but got this   Failed to sanity check in lowl-vcom.c windows_usb_get_string():508   
 and when i try to use cgminer i still have no luck in getting it to detect my gridseed and i have no idea what to do i dont know what im doing wrong but its sure as hell something.
my miner dose work it comes up in the device list and it says that its all updated so i know that windows can detect it but the mining programs are not
i have tried this on my other pc and still no luck so i dont think you need this but here thay are my pc specs

m.2 ssd 120gb
corsair force 3 SSD 60gb
wdhdd 2tb
i7 6700hq 3.90ghz 4core
gtx 950m
16gb ddr4 ram

and the other pc i tried to use the miner on

acer aspire v5
Kingston 500gb ssd
i7 4core 3ghz
8gb ddr 3ram
touch screen
gt 710m

The gridseed is almost exclusively used for altcoin mining so let me help you by moving your thread to where it belongs and someone might be able to help you.

it says that its for bitcoin and litecoin but i know it can mine bitcoin i haven herd about altcoin
