For popular exchanges, either desktop or Android app to place buy and sell orders when price reaches per-defined number. What are my options?

some exchanges have this built-in. which means they allow you to set some price to do some action. something like
if .... then do ....
kind of thing.

i am not using any exchange like this but i believe Coinbase and Poloniex have this option.

also you can check out the trading bots that are currently available in the market.
2 of them are
C.A.T: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=507103.0
GunBot: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1715214.0
you can check their topics or ask their creators if they have such features.

I haven't come across any such apps for trading needs. You could find a trading bot for all your trading purpose. Exchanges most of time notify with the specific coin that are trading with highest bump, the coin with increased trading volume and so on, we are supposed to go through the entire list and find the right coin.

I use "TabTrader" for Android devices. It's been working great for me. Has multiple exchanges. PoloTracker does thesame thing but I have never used it

Does it place a limit order on the exchange or wait for the price to drop and then place the order?

Thanks, yes I saw those bots the price is up there though  Undecided
I assume the bots place the order after the price reaches set amount? This is what I was wanting. Don't need the other features of the bots so kind of trying to avoid them, besides the cost THE COST  Shocked
